Clans vs. IS will be enabled today only. As well as a few bug fixes. http://mwomercs.com/forums/topic/167042-incoming-hot-fix-06-august-2014/page__view__findpost__p__3615303 Is it just me, or do you agree there is going to be A LOT of stomps today?
Yeah just saw that.... So guess IS have lots of matches, clanners almost none.... presuming they mean mechs not faction.
That's ludicrous. Do this on the test server. I'm not going to play today. There are other ways to get both quantity and better quality of data than this.
The next hotfix should limit Clan mechs to 10 (2 Stars). So as not to break the (useless/stupid) 3/3/3/3 rule, they can let IS have any mechs as the extra two. Even an extra two commandos could make a difference. Wonder if they can do that.
Wow...I was about to hop into a game on my Ember, guess we're not gonna do that today. I honestly want to slap whoever at PGI made this decision. You TEST things on a PUBLIC TEST SERVER, don't just throw them onto live and cross your fingers that it doesn't piss off the customer base... Edit: First match in, wasn't even fun to be on the clan side of things. Edit: Game 2, and I'm done for the day. Sad state of affairs here. One of our Dire Wolves in this game didn't even get to the fight until it was over, he got 2 volleys in. http://i.imgur.com/jyBnuy7.jpg[/img]
Oh, yes, u do throw them in live server, when u want to sell ppl things that they know they dont want still, nor is selling as expected, and u care nothing for the ppl in the other side of the screen. Today im playing my Shadowhawk for fun. Every time i see a target in a battle as clan, i insta-quit, or rage-quit, till im lucky to get something that i may enjoy in the GAME.
Has to be said the clan vs clan battles are just as unbalanced tonight ... I've had 3 and the most losses we took was 4. Compare that to vs Is where we almost lost twice in the last hour... kudos to them as they did bloody well.
I can only imagine the rage on the mwomercs forum. I got probably 8 games in of clan vs is. Clan won every time. Most were 12 to 1-4; only 1 was 12-8 and that was because 6 clan players were
They had that data. Since the last test there have been exactly 0% changes to the way Clan and IS mechs fight. And to be true, i think this is their plan, as long as my post in the forum there saying this was deleted: Their plan since start was to sell an "I win" button, then, when the button comes to be reachable for all ppl, nerf it, badly, a lot or more, but not b4 making a lot of ppl pay their 55 $ for a clan mech, but, to get the customers happy they need to make sure they bought an "I win" button, so they would buy also the next one, so they created the tests in Live Server instead of Test Server to make them happy. All ppl win, except the ones that decided to grind their way to the 40millions CBills it would cost a clan Mech (its the figure i see more often in forum about the prize the Timber will have). thats it, the player base that keep the game alive for the paying customers and those disspointed once with the Phoenix mechs. In the end this gonna cost them a lot of customers and potential ones if they arent carefull in the near future.
Test server is fairly irrelevant as the only time its generated enough data was when clan packages could be tested. That day they had almost as many players on PTS as the main server. I'm a fairly fanatical player but I'll never bother with PTS unless theres something very specific I want to test particularly as the PTS server is based on North American TZ so most people never get to try things anyway. We used to send ONE person out of our entire regiment in the US TZ to just give us information on whatever was being tested. Coincidentally I took 20 screenshots and 5 streams last night and notice that most of the players I had on the IS side really weren't that great. It made a huge difference when the IS side was competent and the good players were still getting kills. I wonder if they turned off ELO?
I thought we knew how this would turn out before it happened with all the data that PGI can collect, let alone the players themselves. Psychological factors skew these results anyways, so who gives a shit? If you have a clan mech and they announce clan vs IS, why gimp yourself with taking an IS mech? If you only have IS mechs and you get stomped, why bother to continue to play? Talk about alienating the user base who didn't buy a clan package... I figure that most clan teams grouped together like they were fucking Critters and rolled through the poor farmer's town of IS mechs, devouring every morsel of resistance they found. Meanwhile, the IS team probably broke ranks and made a run for it, either too new to understand what the hell was happening (not everyone knew it was clan vs IS, I'm sure) or lacking the skill to be able to do something about it. Even then, the avalanche of weapons fire and shitty teammates would probably be too much to make a difference. It seems like a pointless slap in the face to the IS crowd: yeah no shit the clans have aspects of their tech that needs to be addressed, so did the IS and we know how well that turned out (still turning.) Anyone who didn't buy clan mechs is wrong and here are ten straight ass whoopings to remind you. What a stupid fucking way to run your game. Sidebar: I wonder what the statistics are of players who uninstalled the game today.
Give away vanity items to players that help. Problem solved. You also get better quality of players by doing that, as it would have been announced on the forums where only the enthusiasts of the game go. Most other games thank the community that help test features.
