I fell in love with this load out today. Been fighting trying to find a good AC20 load out on a mech that doesn't die really quickly for a while, and this one came out. Been averaging 400-500 damage a game where I don't do something stupid like think I'm the Hulk or something and go in blind. Heat management is key. Dont' use the PPC's once your within brawling range without looking at your heat levels first. The idea is to only use them until you close range, or to take out the ECM of opposing mechs. group 1: AC30 group 2: SRM6 group 3: ERPPC link group 4: ERPPC chain Group 5: alpha (only do it when your heat is at 0, or you die) have a nice day. swapping ER's for regular PPC's increases heat efficiency by almost 10%. It's almost worth it seeing as how if you get within 90 meters your primary weapons are going to be the AC20/SRMs anyways. This way you might still be able to Alpha without dying. I've also tried reducing ammo and using SRM+A packs, but didn't find it as effective...mostly because you run dry on ammo... at least your "backup weapons" still pack a punch.
The AC20 and the ERPPCs combo is really nice when dealing with heavy PPC boats, but the AC20 with the SRM6 seems a bit overkill. This guy has a lot less armor, but you can fire a lot more. Still feel kinda iffy about the lack of jumpjets, but you also have the max engine so its not required. I would still like to see them implemented somehow in this build though.
