Weapon Groups 1 - PPCs 2 - AC10 3 - SRM6/4 4 - Alpha Decided to run something a little different from the AC5/PPC combo as I already have that on my HGN-733C and CTF-3D. Shifted the optimal range down a little as I find the majority of my fights these days happen within 400 meters. 50 damage Alpha is great for when you really things dead, and the AC10/SRMs are enough to keep you rocking in those moments when mechs breach your 90 meter minimum PPC range.
Two things, 1. The AC/5/PPC combo still does it better just because SRMs aren't that great. 2. You can drop the PPCS and go with large lasers instead for the AC/5s. They make a fantastic combo.
Yeah, I agree the Ac5/PPC combo gets you more bang for your buck. Like I said I'm just looking for a change as I'm noticing all too many of mechs are starting to get an eerily similar load out across the board. Maybe this isn't a bad thing. If I switch out the PPCs to LLs would you say, regular or ER?
I use regular so that way I'm not overheating in CQC. But if you plan on staying at range the whole time than ER's can definitely be good, it just is too hot for my tastes, and I have the damn thing mastered lol.
