You are essentially brawling with the SRM and maybe the gauss cause of the minimum range of the PPC. you find this works ok for you?
It does indeed. I find most people really don't understand just how far 90 meters is as well. 90 meters isn't as far as believed. It's very uncommon for something to come up and hump my legs, and stay with in the 90 meters. Its even harder for them when you are hitting them with the gauss and 8 SRMs. Now once you add in that PPC's still do damage under 90 meters and its gets more effective. I can't count the amount of times an almost cored mech would face hug my PPC Stalker thinking he was safe, just to have me kill him anyways. Finally with the jump jets and the speed (HA) I find I'm also able to move the combat around enough to stay out of the 90 meters. In one game I had two Spiders and a Trebuchet all trying to face hug and stay under my 90 meters. Two of them died, the last one left with all hit torso and leg internals showing. So in summary, yeah. I think its plenty and in my opinion a far better option than the ERPPCs do to the highly increased heat management and craptastic convergence issues the ERs have over the regulars.
I've found if you get right up on top of someone, the regular PPCs just lose effectiveness. Spider 5K with 4MGs did more damage to a 4xPPC stalker than it did to me (pre-MG-buff). That said, you're right - most people aren't going to want to charge an Assault mech with SRMs and a Gauss just to escape the PPCs. I do find it hilarious that 58 kph is "fast" though.
I'd say its working very well, and its just going to get better the more familiar I get with it and once I get it elited. Love this mech. I changed the initial slightly. Dropped one ton of SRM ammo and upped a SRM4 pack to a SRM6 pack.
You said you dropped a ton of SRM ammo, so what are you firing with. You only had a ton t begin with. Anyway I do like you build. And it is very close to mine and am thinking of trying it.
I changed the first load out. There used to be two tons in it. I'm no running just the SRM 6 solo so I can get the Jump Jets back up to max. So worth it. They recharge faster and you can jump much better as well.
