Was curious to see what if any difference using flamers made to a mech build out. Going on the assumption their high tick would act similar to machine guns for finishing damaged mechs. Smurfy cannot properly represent the heat generated by flamers, I suspect because of their exponential heat generation, so the high heat efficiency is only really accurate when your mech is already cool. I would judge this mechs true cooling efficiency is somewhere in the mid 30s tFi4RWS--l8
VERY fun video. Loved it. The build is fairly standard. The LBX/MLas combo is great, but, I don't see much benefit to the flamers. Might be better off with more MLas or a Heat Sink and two Smalls. Or even more LBX ammo. Point being, flamers will never be buffed enough to make them a viable weapon system.
I agree completely bud, it was more of a build test to see if the Flamers could work like machine guns for a crit finisher. Unfortunately while it is fun as hell it does not appear you get the same benefit vs rewards using the flamers vs medium lasers and they also do not appear to have the same crit chance as machine guns. I was hoping with the high dmg tick rate of the flamers they would. An interesting side effect of my testing though and something that may end up being useful for heat generation if not damage. 4 Flamers set to chain on 2 seperate slots (2 flamers per chain) NEVER accrue heat but STILL heats up the enemy as if 4 flamers were constantly on them... I fired the flamers for over 1 minute non-stop and never went above 0% heat
