Bro, i don't have a Problem if you like your build+concept and want to stick to it. Just run builds/weaponloadouts which suit you best. It's just the way how you reply to someone - I really had the feeling you didn't read my response thoroughly and test it before critisizing it, simply to defend your build by all means. I listed the benefits you would get, but the only thing you said is 9% lower Smurfy Cool Efficiency ignoring the fact it is better in DPS. Two remaining questions i have: Why should someone go for a DoubleTap Sniping Gameplay if he can do it with a higher direct hit damage? Even if the doubletapped second shot is fired very fast after the first shot, you still lose pinpoint.damage against moving targets. What's the benefit? Despite the fact you don't like torso.lasers, why is it bad to run some Backuplasers? (low cost, good against fast targets at close range, Ammo-independent, so if you ever Run dry) despite the fact that MLas is most effective/cost-efficient weapon in the game. I run the fragile BJ with multiple MLas and can score 1k damage easily, while i can't with AC20.BJ. There must be a reason. Ok, i am glad if this build works for you very well. Just don't take it too personal if someone is pointing out the weakpoints of it.
The next load out I'm working on is getting faster, an XL 340 engine. I'll likely have to drop the AC20, the ERR PPC's, and the UAC 5 to make it work. I think it will have to work out something like... 2xAC2, 2xERLLas in arms, 3x MLas in Torso. 5 tons ammo like current build, or possibly 4 with 4xMlas in torso and an XL340 to boot. It's not that I find lasers bad, its that they are of much more limited used peering over cliffs in your torso than a high mounted AC20 is. I'm hoping with more speed I can hide less and run down more kills and spend more time on target. As is currently XL Jager fragility forces me to stay outside fight so I hardly ever get to finish the kill and end up with dumb ratios like 9 assists 1 kill with 590 dmg. Still, I do want you to know that all your input has been valued. Your analysis of laser effectiveness while simplistic still paints a strong picture for them if ya gotta brawl without cover- and I remember having decent success with the Dual UAC5 and 6 Mlas build and have also put together there is a reason I fear exposing my torso to lasers so much, lol.
Backuplasers are meant to be Backup, if you are forced to expose your torso anyways or if you lose Arms/emptied Ammo. As i suggested you, sniping with ERPCC + 2x AC5 can compete with your sniping config easily. Especially if you run it with 15DHS at 120 bullets. You just need to give it a try. You want Sniping with ERPPC and something that includes AC20+UAC5. There is no Alternative if you don't have fun with other "similar" builds. I am talking about Min/Max issues, You are talking about Weapon-preference. I said AC20 and UAC5. I think the 2 are made for each other. It just so happens that the ERPPC is the best weapon to throw into the whole and it fits in the build. I like your brawler, but honestly if you're gonna brawl just run a std engine, heh.
I experimented with some other Alternatives for you: or: or: maybe you like some of the concepts. Compared to your original setup at 12 DHS they look similar in effectiveness for me. At least on paper. yeah, i know that standard statement. You have two alternative options as Brawler: 1. Take a STD Engine to not die from a Sidetorso-Explosion but at cost of a lot of Firepower. Besides losing a complete half makes the Jager lose so much Firepower that you die in the next Attack anyways. 2. Take the risk of an XL-Engine and have high Firepower to take down your Opponents faster than they can blast your Sidetorsos. I prefer the second option and have an aggressive Gameplay (of course needs a good teamplay, but that's all about in MWO). You can see in my scores that i have better scores than with defensive gameplay. Even if I die from a sidetorso.explosion, i usually have dealt so much damage to the enemy-team, that my mates can easily take the win in the end. Just my personal attitude.
Don't get me wrong, I have to play the -A variant to get the third module on the 2 jagers I care about, and I will likely be using streaks because of seeing that- and an XL280 just cuz I hate being slow. It's just for min/max which seems to be the only standard this site judges by, I can't see a fast jager as a better brawler than someone running STD, Dual AC 20's, and 6 lazers. Your build is very creative and looks fun to play regardless of this standard so like I say the games I gotta play using the -A variant will have 4 streaks for sure. BTW i saw you in a game today, you didn't notice me but ya did well with whatever you were using. It was my first game using my xl340 fireband build and i didn't have the exta 1 ton of armor cuz i was too broke to buy the ferrous at the time... lol.

Just kidding I usually run the JM6-A as a Missile Boat like 2x LLas + 2x LRM15s @1080 missiles, can deal about average 500 damage. But i hate Lights who fucks me up upclose. Quadstreaks are very awesome to deal with them quickly. What's your opinion about my alternative suggestions? Something you tried before or doesn't meet your playstyle? Btw i like your way to introduce your build. Lol yeh i didn't speak up because I knew it was going to be a bad game for me and sure enough it was... then you go post my 102 dmg! BAH! lol. Was my first game playing using the XL340 and the speed actually got me trouble(got to fight early, was at 54% before there was enough of the group around to return fire.) Oh well

It'll be pretty hard to top the experience we had rolling the 4 guys from mech spec teamspeak we trying to sync with. Using XL 340 build to boot!
