Yep. Bringing a Dire is now more of a crutch than a bonus, as it slows the entire team down; or they can resign themselves to leaving 100 tons behind, and that's not a good idea either. As fx8230 said, you have to either build your team around the Dires, or else simply ignore them altogether.
I can see that once the Clans have to defend in CW then Direwhales would be good given the role as a turret, then again you need only DWF Config B... since you can have all the builds with this ayways, and you don't need two DWF in your decks. Warhawk, however, is good in all situations, with varying build... the DHS allows for good use of energy weapons. Take this, my comomon build A: or this one common build B: Both are super easy to use, with good heat management and allows for attack on different ranges. Yes I know of that PPC + Gauss build, but after running that a few times I find this two superior.
CW is desert in these days, at least when I play, without challenges it looks like people prefer normal games, and I'm not surprised. After the hype, it's just another game mode, with more waiting time and more unbalanced games. EDIT: I tried to log-in in prime time and it's still quite populated, did some drops, it's nice but doesn't feel too different from normal games now. Fist game started quite soon, then the second made me quit after waiting too much.
Sadly, I'm starting to agree. Since the stocking stuffer event ended, I haven't set foot into CW once...all the group stuff I've done has been solo queue, and TBH I can make cbills and exp faster from normal modes (and use both Clan and IS mechs), so there's little impetus for me to want to do CW right now besides the loyalty rewards, which slow down enough that it doesn't balance out the speed of cbills very much. Even defending, I've found that the easy 1.2 million cbill games that I was having the first few days just aren't happening any more, I think my best wins didn't even break 800,000 since the tactics have led to quicker matches. So yeah, I've just been playing normal matches now. Unless we had a UMAD 12 man going, I don't really see much reason to go CW, but I also sleep far too late into the day to be on when those happen
We're planning a UMAD 12 man of CW for Saturday afternoon, 1900 GMT and on-wards. Hope to see you there if you can make it, Durandal.
No way that can happen 1900 GMT is noon my time, I'll have been asleep for a few hours since I have work Saturday nights >< Sadly, CW just doesn't mesh well with my sleep schedule.
This is how CW looks at 11:11 GMT, the time around which I'm usually able to play (I work mostly in the afternoon/evening and my GF works in the morning ). Normal games still launch in a matter of 1-2 mins. Hard times for EU mechwarriors.
I am surprised, everytime I have gone on in the morning (GMT) we have had Oceania players on. I am sure that the new battle windows will help at: 06:00 GMT 14:00 GMT 22:00 GMT
I should have the full screenshot : it was not I've logged in now that is 7 PM here, and just one planet is active.
Hehe had to ask And then make fun of you if it had been ceasefire. Hope it's a wakeup call that CW needs a lot of work...the veneer wore thin pretty quickly for a lot of us, but I still see a lot of good potential, if they do the right things.
Solo Challenge: Brokeback Pug: Community Warfare Edition ^check this out, one of the few times I've raged and MWO (the most I could say ingame was "worse CW match I've ever had" and well, I didn't lie about it, should have said team, but I'm too polite). CW is getting useless for me, and why those people who can't even trade a bit of damage back play here? Clanners realized the huge advantage their lrms give, and if you are a new player you are just going to get raped by 300 lrms coming at you at the same time.
You definitely need a good core of ECM mechs to break the initial clan firing lines...if you hit your first drop with no ECM, you are utterly fucked. 3-4 ECM in the first drop, you are golden if people watch for UAVs...and they never do.
For UAV, I take them down really fast, as for ECM, I have only the spider 5D and it's not a really great CW mech, so yeah in solo I have to hope for others to bring it.
Hehe there's a reason I keep my RVN-3L and CDA-3M in my deck at all times. Utterly necessary mechs in CW.
I don't bring any ECM myself . . . I haven't found LRMs to be a problem. I mean, yes there have been a few TBRs, SCRs, and MDDs with LRMs, but LRMs are easy enough to duck.
I agree, but in the link to the CW edition of the Brokeback PUG, last post, you can see in the screenshot how a solo gruop can get ruined by them. Sometimes you just gotta cover them with ECM, because they won't close the gap but just trade from distance
