Ops, my reply got lost earlier I see. Maybe didn't get posted, anyways - I agree completely! Sorry if I was unclear earlier! I love the challenge of multiple ECM sources, that's one reason I went dual launchers. The second part of my video is just of me vs the enemy ECM, a 3L and a DC. Only after the 3L went down I was able to NARC effectively. They had nearly a perfect setup, a ECM light and one assault to stay with the pack.
Not seen the video as I'm at work so blocked so i might be covering the same ground. Just wanted to add that the most effective focus fire I've ever seen in a pug game was a medium or heavy who typed to us at the start to focus on the narced target... we literally rampaged through the entire team volleying every single target he "called". Very underestimated module.
Followup question on topic, is NARC affected by missile quirks as in range, cooldown and speed (are there any speed quirks?)? If so, I'll be looking at some new NARC'ers...
Nice, I haven't tried it on IS mechs with missile quirks yet but now I will definantly look twice for quirky NARC masters.
The LCT-3S has a massive 30% general range increase, enabling a scary 585 metres (normally 450) of NARCing goodness. Requires some advanced shooting as the missile speed is 500. Ofc, the build otherwise is nothing special.
@Remarius. Me and my crew bring it frequently but it's more difficult then ever since the Hellbringers came out. It's very common now to see ECM in a team, often multiples.
Well, yeah the NARC overrides the ECM of the mech it is attached to. But if a team has 4 ECM mechs it's really hard to NARC effectively with multiple cloaks overlapping. I think that's what happened, ppl went to the extreme on ECM when NARC got too heavy. But things have settled slightly and my Dealer is seeing some gameplay again.
Or even triple if you check my NARCrow Multiple NARCs are quite useful because it is possible to miss even with good aim.
The most fun I've had with NARC has definitely been my RVN-3L build, The Snitch. Love that little backstabbing bastard!
Lately I've been NARCing with my Panthers, lovely little agile IS mech that can carry a PPC aswell. But I am considering other mechs too. Why limit your NARCing to lights? Skirmishers and frontline fighters can do it aswell. Did you know the AC20 projectile has a speed of 650 and the NARC 500 + 100 with Enhanced NARC module? Nice little sync there! Here's a NARC "tank" brawler.
We used a NARC on heavy mechs before to clearly highlight the focus target in quite some drops now. Players who don't even see this probably can't be helped anyway... This strategy is even more hilarious if you brought a small LRM boat like a Hunchi or Treb.
I used to have a NARC on one of my DWFs. Just added some beacons in my lazor vomit and a few seconds later help fell down from the heavens.
Honestly, if NARC was a one-slot item, I'd run it in my GHR-5H instead of the SRM4. It'd be nasty in that head slot.
