Agreed, it would be nice to have premade drop sets. Even allowing mechs to be on multiple decks, just so you could have some for attack and defense.
Could someone give me an advice in mine ? Currently I'm running: LCT-3M (5SPL) CN-AL (2LLas, 2SRM4, 2MLas) JM6-DD (3UAC5) KGC 000L (4UAC5 1PPC) I feel like my current deck is lacking any jumpjet capability and is too ammo reliant. Currently my new target dropdeck would be: FS9-A (8SPLas) CDA-2B (5MPLas) TDR-5SS (7MPLas) KGC or Atlas
If you're going to take a Cicada, I would take a 3M just to have something with ECM as an option. Your second deck also is potentially limited at longer ranges, which is going to be rough if you're defending.
I'm not a fan of all that short range firepower. For jump/range I'm seeing the 3 ERLL SHD-2K used quite a bit and people swear by it here. I'd also suggest looking at the 2 ERPPC/rest ML TDR-9S as gives you great range and close in due to the -50% ER PPC heat etc quirks. Also the WVR-6K with 2-4 LPL and 3-0 ML as also has 50% range on the LPL. Neither are JJ versions though but both are highly effective builds. The real choice you have is if you need that 100 tonner. IMO it doesn't bring enough to the table but thats personal. Someone can chime in on Orion's as I'm seeing them talked about a lot but haven't used them post quirks.
Except if you really ADORE assault mechs, I don't see much point on bringing a 100 toner. Especially if the Locust is only here to free tonnage (I don't know a lot of pilots loving both Atlases and Locusts). I'd rather bring another heavy and a 35 toner, like a Jenner or a Firestarter.
I agree that that is way too much short range firepower. If you like the TDR-5SS, I would really recommend looking in to the TDR-9SE with 4x LPLas. It has a similar firepower as the 7x MPlas 5SS, but at much longer range and with jumps. The downsides are that it is a bit hotter, and you need to run an XL engine which negates some of the awesome survivability of the TDR chassis. That said, in a recent match I got mine down to 12% and was still firing before I finally went down since the JJ lets you really spread the damage around.
Past dropdecks- KGC, CatK2, Oxide, 2LL2ML Jenner D (for last push gen sniping) Misery, CTF 3D, Cat K2, 2ERLL Locust (for 1500m+ obnoxiousness) or 2x overdriven range extended AMS Locust with 4ML (for covering assault zergs) Current dropdeck - CTF 3D, Cat K2, Firebrand, Oxide Honestly, my STD235 AC40 2ML boomcat is my best CW mech and if I could I would take 4 of em. Oxide (5T ammo) and 2xAC10 PPC 3D are straight up amazing in the right situation as well, but they don't quite stop a zerg in its tracks like a frontloaded armor STD engine heavy endlessly slinging AC20 rounds in your face. In short skirmishes, it's like a crab with much tighter shot convergence and smaller hitboxes
I think it would be cool to add a Dropdeck sub folder for both clan and IS, where people could post dropdeck builds in a similar way to mech builds. Not everyone wants to run the same triple Thunderbolt plus a firestarter dropdeck.
I made a request for this in the request and bugs forum, and was told it is something they are considering, but holding off on until CW is more refined.
BJ-1A (2x LPL, 1xMLas, 6x MG) BJ-1X (2x LPL, 4x MLas) TDR-9SE (2x LPL, 2x SRM4, 2x MLas, STD280) VTR-9B (2x LPLs, 2x UAC/5, XL340) Fairly ammo independent. The Victor has not fared well and will be replaced soon... By an Orion and then moving the BJ1-A up to a Shadowhawk.
Currently using: - TDR-9S (2x ERPPC, 3x MPLas , STD275) - DRG-1N (2x AC5, 2x MLas, XL300, shitload of ammo) - GRF-Sparky (1x LPLas, 5x MLas, XL330) - GRF-3M (4x SRM4+A, 2xMLas, XL300) In addition to this here are several mechs ready for CW including Modules for switching them in. Examples: AWS-8R (3x LRM15+A, 2880 missiles), Golden Boy (5x LRM5), Pirates' Bane (2x MLas, 2x SLas, 2x MG), KGC-000(L) (1x AC20, 2x UAC5, 2x SRM4, 2x MLas, STD310), TDR-5SS (7x MPLas) or CDA-3M (2x LLas, 2x SLas, XL300).
I've subbed out my Cicada 3M, so current deck is now: -FS9-A (8 SPLs, clean up mech) -DRG-1N (2AC5/1ERLL) -STK-4N (6LLas) -RVN-3L (2ERLL) I still tend to start with the Raven or the Stalker, especially if I'm defending. If they make a good push and I die, I roll out either the Firestarter or Dragon and use that to clean up the damaged mechs and push them back, then I pull back and act as support so I don't get too damaged before I can really perform. Attacking...well, tactics and drops depend on who I drop with...
New one, working nice King Crab 000 4x UAC5 STD 325 Wubverine 3 LPL XL300 Dakka Wolverine 2x AC5 1x ML XL280 1JJ and a lot of ammo Spider 5D ECM 3 MPL or 1LL 2 ML XL255 and a lot of JJs to jump over gates (gonna be 2x ERLLAS XL235 when modules are on sale when I know I'm defending). 240T total. I like it because it gets ECM, 2 laserboats and 2 dakka mechs. Also it's nice variety, a 100 tonner, 2 very quirked mechs that are 55T but have an heavy firepower and a good scout. Of course this on is very dependant on the 17th quirk pass, if the Wolvies will get nerfs this won't be good anymore (and there are no 55 tonners that could replace them CW)
