With heavies, I try to look at my max armor to sustained DPS. I want to be able to take as much punishment as I can and still keep firing constantly. Having just purchased a Dragon (after a hunchback plan flopped) here's what I came up with. She has a nice, long range and great speed but inside 200m, she's a killer. I tried dual A/C5s with lasers and an MG but she still would heat up a bit and I didn't want to drop any more armor. The Gauss was a perfect solution. No heat with only one additional heat sink, rounds for 600 damage out of the gauss alone. But once they push, I'm surprised at it's knack for the brawl. Between the ML and SRMs, they drop enough for a gauss round to polish them off or the MG to start destroying components left and right. I've only run 5 rounds today, but, three were over 500 damage, two with 4 kills and only died once. I finally got some decent DPS with good speed. Need to max out a few for speed tweak and I'll be a happy driver! Comments and suggestions are welcome, as always. Thank you.
