This is the current build I am using post July 13 heat penalty patch. There is no doubt that Gauss 2x PPC with JJ is still a very powerful combination. My new build drops 1 PPC to avoid the heat penalty but now gains an additional ton of Gauss Ammo 2 x SRM 4 and an AMS. Adding an AMS is really important to me as I am finding a lot of LRMs in pug matches. I also believe the Dragon Slayer running an XL engine needs to operate at range for better survival as it is on the lighter end of the assaults. The 2 SRM 4 packs give me some close range ability but are mainly for use against light mechs. As a result I prefer not to use artemis for a better spread which saves me tonnage and crit slots. The additional ton of Gauss ammo allows me to maintain full effectiveness at range for longer which is where I believe this mech is better suited. Plus the Gauss ammo distribution is intended to crit pad the vulnerable side torso's. While an additional JJ would have been really nice there was nothing I wanted to compromise on to obtain it though if you really wanted it then 1 ton of Gauss ammo could be replaced with 1 JJ.
