Its a game from Fans for Fans. Not perfect but a very good one on which they can build on their/our dreams.

It's not just the music, it's the idea that this game is not a FPS, but an FPVR (first person Virtual Reality).

I really want to be immersed into the mech, and make it an extension of myself. however, ambient sounds are lackluster; PPC's don't sound like thunder, they sound like rocks hitting an tin roof and a synthesizer, and the only music in the game comes from the HM when it gets a kill. Ballistics, lasers and PPC's have already gone under sound changes before. usually for the better, but it's still off in a strange way. It's probably because all the weapon sounds are off key to each other(comparing lasers to the AC). walking thru water should slow the mech down a bit, but I get no satisfaction from that. It sounds like the riverbed is made of granite instead of lose top soil. I would love to make a sound pack that would work in the game to improve the sounds in game. REALLY the ambient sounds, I would like to see different sounds in different area's of the map. Imagine if you could hear birds on Forest Colony...

great, now I have to suggest this to PGI...

They should add some infantery soldiers... or Elementals as Xtra.Light Class... and agile Tanks. That would give MGs a totally new meaning + viability.

I actually don't want ground forces to come into play in this game. It's about Mech VS Mech, not Random Army VS Random Army.

Varies, but I'm a fairly negative type of person.

Though I voted no, might be a trend !

Uphill struggle yes, do I get frustrated yes, but its not due to lack of progress, no, its lack of comunication.

I'd like openess and well we should have gone with this but didn't due to (some random excuse) but having gone this way, we're stuck with it, its a balance between we're going to give you this in 60 days and it doesn't show up, and no news at all.

The srm buff has kind of brought the game close to a balance, in pugs at least, most of the fail is caused by poor play and not the system.

I won't lose faith with them, though at times I'd like to slap a few faces out of frustration, until launch I'll see what launch brings, even if its only a shiney new mech bay, it will feel like a big lump of progress

I still have full faith. It's a good game, with potential to be a great game. I still enjoy the hell out of every match, even if I get stomped.

Yes, there is a lot of room for improvement and there are some very frustration aspects, however, everyone here plays the game we're given and I think we've all seen the game come a long way. With time, resources and feedback (which, again, PGI is one of the few devs I feel actually listens to their community) I think we will have many more years of growth and enjoyment.

And Cathy, welcome to MechSpecs. :D

I think it's gonna be fine. Really the only frustrating thing for me about it is the randomness of the matchmaker. I can't play with an organized clan or team, it's just my life situation right now... So you all know how it is when you're sitting there watching bad players on your team play bad - feels like no matter how well you might have done you really had no chance from the beginning. The close games and honest losses I can deal with and even appreciate. For me a good fight is enough.

Honestly I think if there was a Solaris mode I might never play another PUG match ever... there's just no consistency right now in who you're getting matched up with. Other than that though I really love just about every other aspect of the game and am grateful at the end of the day to sit down and just play. I am not a nitpicky person by nature - if I'm not having fun I wouldn't be playing it. The next time I log in to play will be match 3,067. This game, I like.

Comparatively, I've played MW2, played competitively as SaKhan of a clan on Mechreg for MW3 and played the initial release of MW4. Also am a Veteran Founder for MWO. Having as much fun now as I ever have and I think it will only get better. My honest opinion.

Exactly. Feels like this a LOT. But the not knowing the skill of my team and having to step up and be the star player that makes stuff happen I believe has made me a better player, be more adaptive, and have learned the best way to build a mech to get the job done.

Personally i play this game to test and see how mech builds handle themselves on the field. I really dont care about the w/l ratio. Im more concerned with K/D/A. As such, I really just want more weapons is all. Surely there had to be more than just these few weapons roaming around the universe at the time.

    my wishlist for the future:

    - a better Introduction (detailed Tutorial) for beginners
    - new U.I., more userfriendly
    - better Performance (for slower machines)
    - more Maps + Details (destructable environment)
    - more Gamemodes
    - more Mechs + Variants
    - new classes (e.g. Xtra Lights like Elementas, Super Assaults > 100tons as Artillery Platforms)
    - more Weapons
    - epic Music
    - more global Events (Storymodes)
    - more defined Roles + Limitations per Match (e.g. 2 Assaults or 2 Scouts, which have a more defined Role than the rest)
    - Tasks + Achievements
    - more Balance aka better Matchmaking (introduction of a class system: regular players, veterans, elite)
    - better Sales (Heroes + Skins)
    - more Skins
    - Creeps (in form of Waves of stupid Tanks, Airstrikes and Infantery)
    - some XP/C-Bills/GPX Bonus Events

Thats it for the beginning. I admit, this game is still not perfect, but if its in Beta.Phase, thats ok for me. I wish that they implement at least half of the things in my wishlist and then add the rest by time in the next patch.versions. Still i find, that PGI has a very good basis, on which they can implement everything, which is still missing.

The Artillery section is not touched yet if I remmber. Also, Melee attacks would be nice. Then at least we can have zombie with an axe, or YLW running around cutting things up as it should be.

DOn't care about anti-personel light weapons though, and this is not DOTA so creeps may not be fun.

lol, no it's not, and I just have to disagree. You and I are the consumers and have no ownership of the product or the franchise. The only thing we have is some digital information that we purchased for use on the MWO server as long as they allow it. That and a sense of entitlement. As far as most software companies are concerned these days we don't own that disk we're buying. We have only licensed the rights to use it as long as they allow us to. They can terminate the agreement just about any time they wish.

We play a game that we we want to be better and sometimes our ranting seems to be heard by those making the game. Of course seeing how they own it and we don't....they don't have to listen to a thing we say. They were making the game before anyone was paying for it and have on more than on occasion made it abundantly clear that loosing a few paying customers was of no consequence to them. If the numbers they give out are correct the loss of you or me mean nothing. The loss of larger merc units may not bother them as there are always more people out there who haven't played the game then those who have. Plus if you get rid of all the bitchy whiny old timers who have been Battletech fans forever, then you get rid of all sorts of complaining from the players.

Personally I don't remember music being something I miss. Better art would be a great step forward however, though I know I am in the minority on that....I guess being old and an artist makes me more of a critic on that score. Don't get me wrong I like the music in the Heavy Metal, but I don't want to feel Like I'm playing in the middle of this years action blockbuster movie. They seem to be working on atmospheric sounds, but how much of that would we hear in a mech?

Your correct MacKerris. We (as consumers) do not own anything BT or MW related.

however, we do control their business. We are their market. In order to keep selling BT and MW related item, or Licenses, they have to convince us that what they make is what we want. Otherwise, they go bankrupt, and they lose all their deals and contracts. If they don't listen to feedback http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/feedback they would go on creating something that not as many people would like.

the point of making a game is to include as many people as you can. The point of marketing a game is to sell it to as many people as possible. Make a ven-diagram of these 2, and you really want to hit that sweet center spot, where the 2 over lap. So far, PGI and IGP have both done a fantastic job of doing just that. AND, because feedback affects the product, we have an ever changing stream of gameplay and feedback. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Feedback

as for the sounds and art, compare this game to say, Crysis 3; You always have ambient sounds, everything looks HD real, almost life like. THIS is where MWO is going to go, ESPECIALLY if they want to compete against major titles as a F2P game.

I think you may have hit one of the things that has been bugging me. The maps are stagnant, though there have been some updates lately. It's like looking at a painting done with a big brush, not a picture...like you said, HD.

I'm split on it. They are making some proper corrections to the gameplay and hinting at some good stuff in the near future, which is nice. However, I'm absolutely tired of this bullshit with HSR and mechs not taking any damage at all when I have them dead to rights or multiple teammates are clearly hitting them. While that situation is bad enough with the lights it is also happening practically every game against even stationary assault mechs.

I was playing a round a couple nights ago on Canyon and had finished a fight at the enemy cap at basically the end of the round (rest of team at our base shooting the last mech) A guy had crashed at the start in his Awesome and while sitting there waiting for the round to end I just used him as target practice. I couldn't hit his right arm at all with any of the 4 weapons systems on my Victor 9K as I stood to his right. I squared up in front of him and shot each one at his center torso and only the SRMs and Medium Lasers hit despite the explosion on contact with the Gauss and ERPPC from 100m. I imagine that if he was moving nothing would have hit at all. How in the hell does a game in 2013 have this bad a netcode? This is just one example, of course.

And yes, I know it is a two way street but I'd rather be killed by someone who properly did the job than have them kill me because some piece of shit netcode is the only reason they had the chance to fire again.

Probably the most common "negative" vibe in my groups social interactions that is thrown out during play is about HSR. Over. And over. Again. We're all guilty of it, and it's such a fucking downer. I can't put HSR any other way. But check it, lemme make light of it... I haven't seen a game with this bad hit detection since the last MILLENIUM. No no, seriously. I haven't seen a game with this shitty net coding since DIALUP. No, but honestly. I haven't seen a game with this bad hit detection since MIKE TYSON BIT OFF EVANDER HOLYFIELDS EAR. Ok last one. I haven't seen a game with such fucked up hit reg since THE JOHN HINKLEY JR. EXPERIENCE. Thanks, you've been a great audience, tip your waitresses folks dnt drink n drive I luv u apollo GNITE.

We actually have created a sort of voodoo school of thought in our unit where we actually believe the HSR stuff is the games form of dice roll. And it's there on purpose. I'm not even joking, it's a serious bonafide theory.
