This is basically a short-range pop-tart which specializes at ridge fighting. Get in close, pop over a ridge and smack your opponents silly. It is a terror in Tourmaline. It's main weakness is that 28 ammo is a little low for a full match, though I could drop AMS and half a ton of armor to add in some more, or pack in another medium laser. Going to an ERPPC may be an option as I haven't had any heat issues with this build running the standard PPC. Test Run:
Your build can work well, but somehow i feel you can get stronger poptart damage. Lets just replace your Energy Weapons by two LLas on both Sidetorsos. Maybe suits your playstyle even more and btw you wont lose Firepower if losing your (both) arms. Besides you should always put your heatsinks into the engine if you can - runs cooler and safer. 4 tons of ammo is not enough to deal 1K Damage scores but this build is primarily for fast Kill(steel)s with few shots. Lets say you can kill almost every opponent with three wellplaced Alphas on Torso.
I do love me the AC20+2LL build as a brawler, but for poptarting, the LL's just don't do it for me, since you have the longer time on target. For a short range version of the Soy build, though, why not use 2xLPLas instead of PPCs? I think I may just have to try this out. Udate: So I've run a few maps with this build, and it's okay. This build really only shines in a few specific situations, particularly in Tourmaline where you can pop over the crystal ridges and hit nearby enemies. For everything else, the range is too short for any effective tarting or direct fire support, and brawling is just handled better with the 2x LLas build Blagg mentioned.
Okay, I've been playing the AC20+2xLPLas a bit more tonight and it is devastating once I've started getting used to the ranges and trying to figure out better positions. Most rounds I end up with 600+ damage unless I do something stupid and die in the first minute.
