Its got range, and punch, and pretty decent suppression. I get around fine with the one JJ and the 260 keeps me from getting too far behind my team. My favorite thing is how this build keeps its damage out to a really good range, and how people just stop and let me shoot them with my gauss once i open up with the AC/2. You can always drop a ton of AC/2 ammo and throw in another heat sink if you are good at conserving ammo and want to not worry as much about your heat. [Edited as per Archwright's suggestions. Moved AC/2 ammo to arm and padded with Heat sink. He also mentioned that you could drop a heat sink and keep the stock 280XL instead of the 260XL. I prefer the extra heat efficiency over the ~4 kph boost you get.] Thanks for looking!
Metagame...broken. You...no PPC+Gauss? Seriously, nice combo. Difficult to hammer Alphas at perpendicular moving mechs but using alternative weaponry depending on situation works ok I suppose. And you gotta love the fact it is not a meta "PPG". 3-4 stars preliminary, will try it someday and come back with a rating.
Yeah for sure, if you miss your gauss rounds, lights will seriously tear you up. Having the jet to jump turn really helps lining up shots, but this build is definitely made for tearing up slower mediums, other heavies, and assaults from way down range.
The Gauss ammo can stay where it is, but the AC/2 ammo is a liability in the CT and LT. I often load my AC/2 ammo into the arm with the AC/2 (and pad it with Heat Sinks). I also have concerns about downgrading the engine. You can drop a DHS and upgrade to the stock XL280 engine.
Yeah, i had difficulty deciding where to stick it. Thats why i stuck the heat sinks in the LT. Thats a good point, could definitely stick it in the arm and throw one of the heat sinks there. Still have AMS ammo in the CT at that point, could possibly move it to one of the legs? I think i prefer the extra heat efficiency over the 4kph, but yeah you could definitely do that. I completely forgot this comes with a 280XL stock.
I was curious and did one drop on this build. Verdict: 1/ the weapon loadout is not easy to use. I still need to work on intuitive key binds. 2/ damn I love it! First of all because it has this invaluable flavour of "fork you meta! I run the build I want!"; second because it has quite a punch and pretty decent mobility. (might be a bit fragile though) I'll do more drops with it next days to get used to it and maybe tweak it a little. Good job.
Key binds i do LL's on 1, AC/2 on 2, and Gauss on 3 2/ That is my favorite reason to play this one I'm interested to see any changes you think should be made!
