Dual ERPPC XL version: https://http://mwo.smurfy-net.de/mechlab#i=40&l=294d7466c99b42a180b1ade88816d91625c16e7d ERPPC/PPC combo Std version: Have been working on this lately as a kind of experimental sniper build. The basic premise is that the PPCs punch the holes and the LBX scores the kill. The PPC projectiles are faster than the LBX rounds, so if fired together and the PPCs penetrate armour then the LBX has the opportunity to crit. This makes it ideal for shooting enemies in the back; few mechs short of an Atlas have more than ~20 armour in the rear, so the PPCs will almost always strip the armour for the LBX to crit. In the brief testing I've done, I've had a couple of rear CT insta-kills this way. One issue is obviously the spread of the LBX, which limits the effective alpha range. Basically the ERPPCs are used for long-range sniping, and the LBX added in when targets get within ~500m. In a brawl or when hot, the PPCs are chainfired. The other big issue is obviously the heat of the ERPPCs, which is high but manageable, even on Terra Therma. Armour is also a touch on the light side. The ERPPCs give you great flexibility in range, allowing extreme-range sniping while still allowing you to defend yourself at point blank. I'm not completely sold on 2 ERs on the XL version though, possibly the ERPPC/PPC combo will work better in terms of heat management - in which case I'd look at dropping a DHS and adding a ton of armour. Weapons are grouped as follows (XL version): 1) ERPPCs on chainfire - for close combat/when heat is high 2) LBX 3) ERPPCs grouped - for sniping/low heat 4) Alpha (optional) - mid-range sniping (otherwise hit buttons 2+3 together) For the Std version, group (1) becomes ERPPC alone for close in. The ERPPC and PPC can be staggered by hitting (1) then (3).
