So I bought a Phract because I like their style (no they're NOT ugly!). Since I'm a bit fan of lasers but still wanted a versatile mech first I bought the 3D. tried a few builds but now with this I'm very very satisfied.
It has two high mounted ERLLs for long range fire, can peek-a-boo with jumpjets and still packs serious dakka with the UACs to wreck people in unsuspected brawls and cleanup fights. needs to avoid too much damage though because of the XL.

I found heat is no problem, the only fight where I came close to overheating was when I was in a brawl on terra and kept firing the ERLLs in group fire for max damage.

You named it "Half'n'Half" and you didn't put that right-side LL in the Left arm? Half Dakka, Half Pew? Split it down the middle!

well the half n half was from having 50% dakka and 50% of my beloved lazurs :)

I put the ERLL into both torsos because you can shoot over ridges like crazy. the phract has such low arm mounts that I don't feel too comfortable putting very long range weapons in them.

I'm a big fan of symmetrical loadouts but I like this one better on the phract. I have it like this on my mouse:

RMB: UAC in right arm (middle finger)
mouse wheel click: UAC in right torso (index finger)
MB4 (on the left side of the mouse): ERLLs either chain or group fire

with this setup I have the "physical" feeling of the UACs next to each other because you save a lot of ammo. grouping them doesn't make much sense because the mounting height varies so much.

edit: this way you also can play like a wannabe centurion because the left arm is empty but still has 42/44 armor which helps with spreading the damage to avoid taking an arrow to the knee...ehm I mean side torso
