not fast, lots of armor, not enough ammo, no AMS. a poor build, I'm sure you can do well in, but this can die to a light mech due to the slow turn speed.

I dont use AMS. I use natural protection ( a bridge a building etc ). I kill a lot of light with this build. Trust me.

You must be a very good pilot, because this build is not good. In my opinion, you've sacrificed too much to get the impulse damage to 50.

I finish top 10 in a tourney. It was the tourney before challenges with Cal 50 and 3050. It was in assaut.

Most of the time I find drano's builds to be 1/ pretty exotic, 2/ powerful and 3/ hard to use effectively. But I must admit it works well for him (I play a lot with him, the man is a killer).

The main reproach I'm making about this build is the lack of ammo.
So I modified it a little, removing the arm laser and stripping some armor (mostly from the shield side) to add one JJ and one more ammo ton for each canon. I also disposed the ammo and JJs in a more optimized way:

It worked pretty well. Good damage and enough kills, even if I'm not really a good poptart.
But somehow I was always waiting to be in AC/20 range, in order to shoot the alpha. I could engage with the gauss at long range, but with so few ammo, it was like every long shot I made was one less massive alpha I can't fire later. So if I had to compare this with the classic 2xgauss build, I'd say you trade gauss range for higher short range alpha damage. Is it worth?

This build is not the same since Gauss's patch.

I try it, was fun
