This is my forward built. Named now "50 cent" to tribute the 50 damage alpha. Is it slow -depends on preferences, Is it ineffective in sniper games - as long as you can't sneak them out, But he likes BRAWLING, [size=8pt]as a support. This does look like a nasty combination. Leg armour looks dangerously low though, especially if you're jump-turning in a brawl, so I'd strip the left arm somewhat to increase it. A few similar "AC20 + miscellaneous AC" builds on the 3D run 3 Medium Lasers, and I think you could do that on this build comfortably with the firepower you have. That extra ton could go towards a Std 260 engine or some more ammo (which is pretty much at minimum). I'd also look at dropping the AMS. Yes, it's handy at the speed you're running, but given that you're pushed for tonnage that weight might be better used on engine/ammo/armour upgrades. If I was going to run it (and I'm tempted...), it would probably look something like this:
Thx for the input. Yes this 3D is nasty. He is the Support of a Brawler. He is made for cleanup duty. You need to stay calm in this 3D, because you are playing allways near overheating. And you need to enter the combat in the right moment! Timing is essential. The built is made to hit the 50 Damage upfront mark (+X on open targets!). He runs hot if you use the MLs to early. There is no difference between 3 or 4 ML, beside that your Alpha is weaker. The 10 engine rating are wasted. You are slow anyhow. And it doesn't bring more Heatsinks. The Ammunition is fine. If you spam your guns you won't have success. There is nothing wrong with the leg armor. You should not jump more then 75%. If you get all your fuel burned you take leg damage anyhow. It is for repositioning only. It is enough to be save for a whole round in PUGs. In my opinion AMS it is needed. Otherwise i would use it for a BAP. All you need to do is hanging around near an Assault to carry like a AS or HGN, let him crack the Torso, and Burst the remains. As long as you do not get a 275/280 inklussive the additional heatsink, the change does not help. If you wanna go with 3 Laser, you can use the ILYA, and he has other builts like the 3x10LBX or 3AC10.
While it does look like one hell of a damage dealer, however, I agree with the Dark one. The Legs NEED to be reinforced. As a light pilot, I always leg-check heavies and assaults first and with all that high explosive damage ammo in lightly armored legs, my Jenner would kill this mech in under 5 seconds. Ammo explosions are like hula girl. No lie. At the least, I would drop a little bit of armor from the left arm and some from the head (very few pilots go for headshots) and increase those legs a bit. SPEAKING OF AMMO! That is the only other issue I see with this build. You have a GREAT loadout, but, it seems a little light on the LBX ammunition. It is obviously not as focused of a weapon, but, it can still do solid damage at over 1000m! I have gotten plenty of kills with an LBX over 500m. However, I don't see a good way to sneak any more in. You could drop one MLas, but, then your alpha goes down and you have less to strike with once your ammo runs dry anyway... All around, I like the build. In a support role, I can see it being VERY deadly. I would just run slightly different. I would run with one less MLas to take advantage of the LBX (1T extra ammo) and take armor from what becomes a shield arm to buff the legs: Also, brings your heat efficiency up a bit. Once mastered, that means an 8% increase in sustained DPS. With good torso twist and use of your shield side, this is a very survivable, verrrry punishing mech.
At least it is no problem to strip some armor on the arms and get it in the legs, if you need more safety, feel free to do so. I don't have problems with getting legged. If something like this happens then you don't survive it anyhow, because you are surrounded by enemys. Also a single light mech for example eats most time a well aimed 50 alpha and is open after this. He have to think twice if he wanna mess around longer, because a open torso penetrated with LBX give him a short life. You want to stay most time in the middle of the pack. And there aren't many lights. In terms of ammo: discipline is the word. You have 9 shots of LB-X you can use in spam/suppression fire or hunting the little jordels. The other 21 rounds you combine with the AC20 to get as much punch as you can. 21x(20+10)=630 damage +crit of the lbx internal hits. For me it is enough for a game to bring the enemy side down. It is a "cleaner", you can sustain an Assault Mech with it, but it isn't effective. You wanna have in best case a distraction and a wingman. The most problems are caused by your own side, if they think retreat is the only option. Then you are doomed, because you don't have the speed to get out of the situation.
