Thought I'd have a go at emulating the CTF-3L, which is basically an upgrade of the 1X chassis. From Sarna.net: "CTF-3L - Produced by the Capellans based on stolen Davion designs, the 3L is an upgraded version of the Cataphract that follows more in line with the prototype 1X model. It is propelled by an XL Engine with MASC instead of jump jets allowing it to reach speeds of 86.4 km/h in short bursts. While it is also armed with an LB-X Autocannon/10 as its primary weapon this is instead matched with a Ceres Arms Warrior ER PPC for powerful striking capabilities at long range. Other differences include the use of four Medium Pulse Laser and double heat sinks in place of the standard models." My approximation of the historical version (can't do anything about the MASC at present, so just left it fairly plain): Tweaked for actual use in MWO: She looks like she runs a little hot but could potentially be brutal in a brawl with 4 MPLas and an LBX. Just breaks 80 kph with Tweak, and has AMS for protection. The AMS could be dropped for another DHS and 0.5 tons armour if preferred. There could be a case for dropping the AMS, a ton of LBX ammo, and 0.5 tons armour to go to an XL325 and 17 DHS as well (which is getting pretty close to the 86 kph achieved with MASC in the original):
Well, honestly i dont like the stockloadout of the 3L. All too hot weapons (except the LBX), and cries for a Standard Engine because of the Weaponrange (except the ERPPC). I would change the Config like this: or if XL then go MAX!
Those are good points Blagg, but then you're just moving back towards the stock 1X. I guess some designs don't translate that well... But all those pulse lasers... come on, you know you wanna
