I've been trying to evaluate the effectiveness of one MG as a crit hunter on a FLAME. I took out an SRM4 to put in an MG and SRM2, but results have been inconclusive after like 10 matches. Thoughts?

since testing ground mechs work the same as real mechs, test it there. 1MG is not really great, unless you have a large cannon to make it useful. otherwise, 2+ is the magic number in my experience.

I believe that your MECH TREE skills are not applied in the testing grounds. Cool Running, Twist X, Speed Tweak etc. don't work there. You will get a false sense of your mechs true capabilities. Still, if it works in the testing grounds then you KNOW it will work under "real world" conditions.

A MG will work the same as any MG in Testing or online play. Pinpoint be danmed.

This is also false. Everyone knows that MGs use plutonium based ammo in the testing grounds. Impacting rounds tend to detonate causing small thermonuclear explosions rendering the enemy vaporized.

That is because the mechs are standing still, ensuring HSR is never an issue. That, and because Pilot skills are at zero, you have the highest hit chance with every weapon in the game ATM.
