This is an attempt to replicate the clans Timber Wolf using the catapult as a base chsasis. Due to hard point restrictions there is another build of this based on the C1 chasis called Timber. With that said this battle mech actually has a long design history starting in the early days of beta, when people wanted their timber wolves and oddly enough urban mech. This began with the topic Something for those mad cat/timber wolf fans and eventually continued in the topic Something for those timber wolf/mad cat fans part II Due to the original name of the battlemech this became known as project madapult to myself. I wanted to release this a bit earlier, but with the clans coming out soon I figure its better late then never. The Wolf version is name so due to its medium to close range weapon setup, and for the fact it was the second of the two actual builds designed around the Timber wolf, as such it holds the second word used in the clan battlemechs name. This version lacks the missile launchers and medium pulse lasers of the timber wolf, and due to weight difference of the two mechs doesn't have as much armor. It will reach the Timber wolf top speed with speed tweak on the engine, though this would be the stock timber wolf speed on MWO.
I notice all your posts are replica of Clan mechs and I fail to understand what's their purpose and what's your intention with it. 1/ Is it theory crafting using inner-sphere pace-holders? In this case it's absolutely meaningless, due to all the difference between the two systems - just wait for the clan mech release. 2/ Is it only attempts to create viable mechs inspired by clan mechs? In this case we can discuss them without any regard for their original inspiration.
Its a little bit of column A and a little bit of column B. Most of the builds I come up with are in a sense theoretical in the sense of can it be done. For instance I have 10 builds just on the commando trying to fit weapon set ups from other 25 ton battlemechs into the chassis. One of those is a COM-3A with the weapon, systems, engine, equipment of the COM-5S. In some cases its putting builds of mechs we wouldn't see other wise into a close to or proper variant. For instance most of the riflemans load outs and builds should fit into the slightly heavier blackjack. I wouldn't say that its useless, because you never know when a person might come along looking for a particle build, or wonder which mech might be a substitute for a battlemech we yet have in game.
