I've been having a string of terrible matches pugging lately, mostly thanks to poptarts and other snipers, and teammates who don't know how to handle that, and can't take directions. So, I was trying to make this build something that could compete with all the ERPPC and Gauss snipers popping up everywhere. I have not actually used this Mech yet, but it has better range, and 33% more damage at sniping range than my normal 1xGauss, 2LLas build. It's pretty bad on heat, and it might be hard to handle Lights, but it might fill the role of sniper fairly well until things balance back out ingame.

As usual, I'm using my XL295 because I'm too cheap to buy another engine. Swapping it out with something else gives you more options, obviously.

    Thoughts?

I'll rate this one myself. Meh. It runs too hot for me. You can swap in an XL300, drop to 1 ton of ammo, and get the heat efficiency up to 31%, but that's borderline for me. It'd probably work for someone, but this is not what I'd call a good build, for my tastes.

IMO the moment you put 2 ppc on a k2 you go for a peek-a-boo sniper. I love the k2 for this ability, its just awesome, only the jager can rival the k2.
The ac5 will force you to show your full torso and basically kills this feature. In the infight the ac5 doesnt work well with the 2 mlaser, at least my ability isnt good enough to handle both weapongroups.
The only advantages the ac5 provides is damage when heat is up, but 5 damage every couple of seconds wont be such a big deal. 25 damage alpha with the 2 ppc and the shacking effect of the impact, which is probably the best feature.
I only pug and atm its pure suicide to show my torso on a hill or something. Im eating a wall of ppc and gauss, so peek-a-boo is the only way for me to contribute for my team and to survive.
Im using the usual 2 eppc, 2 ll, 19hs, xl300 setup. Works like a charm, but not very innovative I fear.

What Fiewel said, basically. Use that setup - XL300, 2 Large Lasers, 2 ER PPC, 19 heat sinks. Good ranged ability, decent in-fighting.

The K2 will always be my favorite Heavy 'mech. I enjoy running the 2x ERPPC + 2x LLaser build as well as something closer to stock, ERPPC's for the win!

I am not a fan of putting larger bore AC's in it, as Fiewiel said, it makes you expose too much of yourself.

    Myth.

Fiewel, I agree with most of your post, except that a 4PPC stalker is a scarier peek-a-boo than both Heavies you mentioned.

Yeah, I'm now running the 19DHS, 2xERPPC, 2XLLas, XL300 build. (Yes, I finally bought an XL300) It is pretty sweet. I'm still a little less accurate with the PPCs than I'd like to be, but it seems to be a very solid build.

I just put together this build and was going to post it when I saw you beat me to the punch. Mine was 17 DHS, XL300, 384 armor, 90 AC/5 shells.

    I quite like it, actually.

The funny thing is... this is the same weapons load out of the Marauder... just... sucky for the chassis.
