The problem was the sacrifices, engine size etc. I have had a helluva workday so couldn't look at the idea. Pretty good tho, that build. Drill the vulnerables and finish with the LBs. This could be close to a light nightmare. And a endgame finisher.

 

This is my version of K2 :

1 Fast as hell;
2 Deadly as a mangusta helicopter;
3 Really funny !!!

My version of CPLT-K2 and my point of view of the battlefield, with some suggestions.



PROs :
Fast (XL315 - 86.4Km\h);
Powerful fire devastating at low range (4x MLas + 2x LB10XAC Alpha shot);
Good hot managment;
AMS.

CONTROs :
Low ammo's(60 in double shot are 30 Alpha shot) after finish that ammo you have 4xMLas, not the best, but not too bad anyway.

I do love the double LBX, but, I use an XL295, Dual LL instead of MLas to increase my range and pack in 5t LBX ammo...


It's been fun this afternoon.

 

I won't call this my build as it is a tweak of a tweak of a tweak... and I have no idea who to credit. But I just finished this and wow is it fun as hell.

 

So, I really didn't want to run out of ammo with this baby since the CT just screams SHOOT ME! So I took the speed hit, gained 50% more ammo, and a couple extra DHS. On a Cold map, I can alpha for days. On the hottest, I can get 3 full alpha and then back off to just using the LBX for a shot or two.

For most games, losing a little speed isn't a big deal, just stick with the big guys and add your DPS to their weight. When they get whittled down a bit, break off and play the stragglers 1v1, they usually have enough damage that they go down in 1-2 strikes, or they piss their pants so hard they stop firing and try to run!

Best Damage so far was 984, with 3 kills and 8 assists.
Most Fun I have had with this has to be when I sneaked around on Crimson Straight and ambushed a full assault lance from the rear that was clogged up into the tunnel. I would fire a single ML into their back one at a time, they turn to see what the issue is, and get a face full of lead. I took 2 Atlases, a BattleMaster, then rounded the match out with a couple Jaegers and a raven that thought it could circle me. Not a TON of damage that round (600 ), since they were getting plugged by my team first, but man, 3 assaults is 3 assaults.

I've replaced one of the LBX's with a standard AC10, and so far I gotta say, it's pretty effective. But I'm not sure if it's just decent PUG runs so I'd like some input if anyone else has done this with any success.

 

We ran the good old boomstick K2 as a lance on Syldria's (AlaskanShrake) live stream.



I was running this variation:



You need at least 6 tons of ammo

 

This is almost exactly my build. I went with a 300xl engine, and a bit more armor. Otherwise, its identical. I shred lights, my K/D hovers at 1.66:1 (always improving as my skill with it grows), and I can annihilate an unwary assault mech in no time. I average between 3-5 kills per match with this bad boy. I do struggle on the LRM-heavy/open maps, but compensate by sticking near anyone with an ECM or a group of AMS's.

Third outing in this build and I broke 1000 damage(1107 final tally)! First time I have ever done it!
No Arty, no airstrikes. Unbelievable!

Been running the 300xl version of this - funfunfunfun!
Gotta keep yer head down for the first half of the match. Then roll in and let the amputations begin!

 

Now that we have 1/2 tons racks, this is possible



Or switch the 4xMLas for 2xMPLas

I run the XL 300 version 4ml 2 LBX10 with 67 rounds of LBX ammo and 1500 AMS ammo (yes LURMammageddon is back).

I added following weapon modules to boost its strenght:

ML range lvl 5.
LBX 10 cooldown lvl 5.

I am pretty happy about the result, all nite 500+ damage games.
This thing shredds heavies and assualts.
