My latest creation, a fast direct-fire support mech. The ac2 is used as a spotting rifle for the two erppcs and the mg is set to fire with the medium lasers. BAP for extra sensor range and advanced zoom module for long-range sniping. Armor and speed is decent, still a bit fragile due to the XL300, a STD would increase durability at a much slower speed. ERPPCs in chain-fire on group one, MLAS+MG on group two, ALPHA on group three and AC/2 on group four. What would you consider an improvement and why?
I tried a version of this (dropped mg/ams, added more hs and more ac2 ammo) and it doesnt work for me. "Leading" with the ac2 makes reacting with the ppcs way too slow. The heat of the ac2 is too high, you have to show your torso for the ac2 which basically negates the biggest advantage of the k2. In short not my cup of tea.
i like the Idea of combining PPCs and a single AC/2, but this needs to up the Cool Efficiency. Besides, 1ton AC/2 Ammo is too little and the MG is not viable unless you really want to go into short range combat. The thought of using ammo to spot for a weapon that doesnt use ammo is kind of a backwards idea of a spotting rifle... 2/5, I like where you head is at but the end result is, in my opinion, a rather poor mech.
