I am planing on building a LRM Cat using the C4. Came up with two working designs would like some feed back and ideas on how to make them better. Primary Configuration Alternate Configuration A (Artemis and BAP) Alternate Configuration B Just want some input on what other mechwarriors think about these lrm boats
I've been working on an LRM boat myself. Here's what I've come up with. It's almost the same thing as yours but I've dumped BAP in favor of a TAG and a Mlas. BAP isn't really that great and TAG will let you conquer that bothersome ECM.
while that be true about bap tag is only good up to 750m so it works best with srms and mrm when we get them not so well with lrms do to the 1000m range that they have
I have to agree with Carnivoris. I run my CPLT-C1(F) {See my 'Mech under CPLT-C1 heading} with TAG and find it extremely effective. I believe that 500-750 meters is the best range for LRMs anyway because it takes too long for the missiles to travel 1000 meters. When I am piloting my RVN-3L Raven I am often able to destroy the 'Mech I am TAGing before my teammates second volley makes it to the target. BAP is a good piece of kit but I would take TAG first; every day of the week.
have to admit that is very true happens to me in battles if not careful but with the range of the lrms u get first hit against majority of opposing mechs when u have a clear shot and since only weapons that can hit back are other lrms since direct line of sight of weapons lack the range to hit you in return
Try out Carnivoris' build. i'm using it currently minus artemis and dhs. it's a solid fuckin build. I can core some people in 2 Volleys.
The Build is awesome, but it lacks of ammo. I mean for new players. For a seasoned player, you have to make each salvo count. Artemis + TAG stack, making missiles more deadly and accurate on moving targets. Of course, after that, you'll need to learn the lyrics of the Catapult Anthem ! "]CPLT-C4 i dont see how this build is viable with all the armor and heat sinks. the engine is an XL and req 12 slots I only have 6 slots (i didnt have 4 million anyway) so how does that work? clearly i didnt have the tonage to add heat sinks, the medium laser, engine (which i dont see how it would fit) and the armor you suggested. am i doing something wrong or what there is patch that changed something to make this not viable anymore? looking at how squishy i am i think i might have to ditch the Artemis IVs and buff myself up, but i am testing it out now.
clearly i am a nuubie xD, so does 12 slots mean that it will take up 6 slots some where else? i do have to say this build is OP but currently i am squishy as heck. but when i hit i do about 10% dmg but i die in 2 shots lol. i guess i just need to save up my 4 mil 2 random questions #1 how did you get that nice profile picture with the loadout? (it much nicer then a link) #2 how do i spend my GXP in the bottom right corner i think i have around 500 now?
You can use GXP to unlock modules, they cost anywhere from 5000 GXP to 15000 GXP. You can also use them for mech efficiencies instead of using Mech XP, but I would not do this until after unlocking all modules. STD engines take up 6 slots center torso. XL engine takes 6 CT, 3 LT, and 3 RT. This also means that with the STD engine, you can have your LT and RT shot off and still be alive, but with an XL engine if you lose either side torso you're out of the match.
