I was working on a BJ-3 build and had 3 tons left and 1 crit slot. I thought I might slap a command console in there for the lolz but see that this is not possible in Smurfy. Is it only for heavy and assault mechs? I don't remember seeing that mentioned when they gave it functionality but that seems to be what smurfy indicates. Also... anybody use this? It looks terrible to me but I'd be interested to hear any actual hands on experience with it.
Yeah, CC was only ever available on Heavy and Assault 'Mechs, due to physical size restrictions. (From Sarna's article on the Cockpit Command Console) So far as its utility, I've never found myself tempted to use it. The benefits simply don't seem worth the 3 tons it requires, and I rarely EVER find a build where I actually have difficulty filling all the slots and tonnage.
