Actually not only Clan but also IS mechs will not be able to shoot more than 2 Gauss rifles at the same time, so no more boomthract 45 points of doom.
You can immediately start charging the second pair of gauss after the first pair fire. That is still going to be a tremendously powerful combination. Its undoubtedly going to be a glass cannon due to the fragility of the rifles, but since the cooldown is longer than the charge and fire time, 100% utilization is still possible with quad gauss. Even on IS weapon metrics, that is a mind-boggling 16ish sustained dps when paired with some lasers on 15 DHS. The direwolf has some missile slots so if you wanted to go nuts I'm sure you could crank out 20 DPS. This is totally silly, but if you lined up 12 atlases like dominoes, 20 DPS would saw through the CT on all 12 of them in about 1min 36sec.
Have better idea on what I am going to do with the 4 slots in direwolf. As we know it dev tend to not make too much of a change once a chassis is launched so I will wait til after 17 to throw in my ideas. But I think 4x Gauss is not even the most fun way to do it.
Hail, To be honest I did not spend much time building variants last evening, ran a Black Hawk Prime with a 72 point Alpha and ran "shits and giggles" all night. Seyla,
Not convinced on the value of that. Now this is what I was running last night. [DIRE WOLF-PRIME]: 2xCERPPC, 2xCGauss, CAMS, Clan XL300, DHS Doesn't seem to want to work anymore so: http://goo.gl/azvptK
I ended up pretty much the same on my one of my Dire Wolves Remarius. That's one clumsy slow ass mech. I did mess around with a LBX60 for giggles as well a couple of times.
Not sure about this, but wow, it`s the first Mech that can do 6x AC5 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! [DIRE WOLF-PRIME]: 6xCAC5, Clan XL300, DHS
Even the standard AC in the clans is a burst weapon, even the AC/5. It shots out three shells I think as I ghosted on someone else using it and was sad. I know from personal use the standard C-AC/20 shots in a burst. So yeah, generally speaking, if you want pinpoint clan damage its PPC or a gauss.
Well actually talking to a few competitive players they liked the 20 and 5. But the heat with even 3 is ridiculous - its a chain fire job unless you're safe to shut down.
the 5 is not bad really, and you can gamble with the UAC5 (no point in getting the regular since you can't switch ammo). The UAC20 is hot, 2 of them is ok, but 4 is too much. Tried 5x UAC5 and 3x UAC20, start to think if LBX20 is worth it? Was using 4x AC10
