Yes, so here is the question, which one is better? As we know it the ammo swap function is not going to be loaded (until further notice) So what is the difference between cACx and cUACx? cUACx takes up less space the has the ability to rapid fire, which means that they are usperior except that you can not auto-fire by holding down the button. HOWEVER according to smurfy they are hotter, and can anyone confirm the stats? If that is the case xACx may still be useful. The only problem is that it may be a wasted investment since once the cACx/cLBXx is fixed these guns will be gone.
I think there's no good reason not to take a C-UAC instead of the regular version. That being said, I also think that ACs should always have been like the clan versions. They simply act as one would expect from reading the novels.
UAC all the way, less slots and you can double tap if you want. As you said the normal AC is just a place holder for the ammo toggle function.
I am planning a little Timber Wolf vs Ilya tripple UAC5 clip (new saw vs old saw) that should illustrate this nicely. I just have to clear some other projects first.
the more interesting question for me is rather: Clan UAC vs Clan LBX I have seen the cUAC20 in action from spectator mode. It didnt impress me much. Have seen so many guys fired several salvos on the Target, and couldn`t take it down like it would happen with a good old IS BFG. Damn, i think i will go for the cLBX20 just for the smashing Boomshock Soundeffect instead an annoying "Door-knocking".
I think its damming how few clan autocannons of any variety that hit me as I've been playing Lights/Meds since the patch.... Clan/IS Gauss and IS AC I see a plenty. I come across plenty in Daishi but 90% of the time you can control the range and your C-ERLL just rip them to shreds. The clan versions of AC are very much aimed at killing larger prey.
The thing is, even if you do get hit by part of a burst, the singular damage of a bullet is rather low. With IS AC that is not the case, you KNOW you are hurt.
Yeah and that lack of killing power is also why I don't see them much. We'll see if the laser changes today effect the balance I guess but as they're blatantly going to nerf ER's and improve pulse for clan after all the whiners I doubt much changes. I did hold off my next set of clan mechs till after the patch though deliberately.
