You know, I ALMOST bought a Kitfox today. ALMOST! I am so bored of not having a game that I actually almost spent $55 on getting the Kitfox pack and grinding through them for something to do. Almost. Another 4 weeks or so and they will be available for Cbills and I'll snag all 3 variants for what I have saved up and that should give me something to do for a bit I suppose. I keep telling myself to get an SSD and get that installed, clone my HDD and then grab ARMA3 or maybe play some more Rome 2 or even some DFM for SC. I'm in a game slump!
About to get into ARMA3 with some local friends, let me know if you want people to play with. Also, I've been recommended Path of Exile by a lot of people so I would second looking into it if you are a Diablo fan
The MC price is more worth it then buying the clan pack, just as a FYI. But you totally have my sympathies. Game slumps are annoying. There's tons of gameplay in Arma 3 and all the mods, by får the most versatile game buy right now. If you want solo play, the Assassins Creed series (Black Flag) offers a lot of hours. Watch Dogs feels a lot like those BTW, albeit set with different challenges. There's a lot of buzz around a game called "Landmark", Minecraftish game with less blocks and more art.
Torchlight 2 is good as well (and was made by the guys who made Diablo 2 after they left Blizzard), and is generally cheap...normally $20 on Steam, but it goes on sale all the time. I was weak and picked up the Nova pack since I wanted to play, and it was $60 for 3 Novas and 3 Kit Foxes. That said...so far, I have not enjoyed my KFX at all. It's just so slow for a light
That's what the Steam Summer Sale is for me. It's the time of year I stupidly impulse buy a bunch of games to keep for when I get bored with life. Of course, I always keep coming back to MWO for some reason or another. Stay strong! Boredom is how I bought my Golden Boy (which I actually enjoy, but that's not the point) Side note: If by Rome 2, you are talking about the Total War game... that has just inspired me to play some more Shogun 2 Total War...
He he as much as I'm a fanboi I have to admit I always play MWO as a second game. As I'm on holiday been playing games like Wolfenstein NWO (surprisingly brilliant particularly at 50% off in the steam sale), rewatching lots of old films (and generally thinking wow this was bad it seemed a lot better in the cinema!), replaying old games (Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines with the Final Nights mod) etc. PS: I enjoy the Golden Boy tbh but bought it deliberately at 50% of as doing all the mechs.
I greatly enjoyed Torchlight 2, & thought it well worth the $20 i spent on it... I also bought Diablo 3 and was disapointed
You know, I ALMOST bought a Kitfox today. ALMOST! I am so bored of not having a game that I actually almost spent $55 on getting the Kitfox pack and grinding through them for something to do. Almost.
That's not bad Grimm, at least you would've done it out of some sense of... productivity. A few nights ago I almost bought the MadCat alacart.... I don't even have time to play the game... Just so I could see it in my mechbay and stomp around on a training map for a few minutes before the wife decides to rip into me about things that aren't done around the house... like I have any free time at all. Anyway, not wat you were talking about, I know, but I understand being starved for a game... maybe for other reasons, but I get it.
I'm like Michael atm. Last week i had finally got all my Assaults, Heavies on Master Lvl and almost all the Mediums. There are only some few (e.g. Cidada) and several Lights, which i still have to push them to Master, but i'm not playing Lights alot, and usually i play them as Scout and Capper, so mastering them could take time. I haven`t bought any Clan Package, because i don`t see a reason to spend that much of Money for them. For me the prices are definitely PGI's Money Grabbing Policy. With $55 i can get soo many brilliant Video Games (plenty of them on Steam and PS Plus etc. on Sale). Why should i spent the Money for one Clan Chassis with some Bonus? Give me a Full Game Content Package for the Bucks and we can talk again. Now due to the new Imbalances in the MM (i mean the whole 2-4 Group Problem which is discussed extensively in the other thread) and the Boredom, that Michael mentioned, which i feel the same, i am playing some other Games atm with pleasure. E.g. Diablo 3 Addon, getting all my Champions to the raised Lvl Cap of 70 (and beyond with the Paragon System/Adventure Mode), which is ton of Fun on the higher Difficulty Lvls. Path of Exile is also great, i have an Archer on Lvl40 and maybe will finish the first Playthrough this WE. Another Game i highly recommend if you like addictive Lvl-Up + Upgrade/Loot Mechanics -> Borderlands 2 with all the extremely fun DLCs. I still have the original Version (from the Collector's Edition), but definitely will rebuy it with the Game of the Year Edition, which is much more Content than PGI's money-grabbing Clan Packages. Other Games, which takes you deep into another Universe -> XCOM + Addon GTA V (atm only console, but PC/PS4 Version will come with absolutely brilliant Grafix!) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pBkCB1zRIx4 The Witcher 2 (awesome + sexy) Fallout 3/New Vegas GOTY/Ultimate Editions (the Content is OMFG!) Dark Souls 2 Dragon Age + Addon Mass Effect Trilogy (i still have to finish Part 3) Far Cry 3 + Blood Dragon (Love this game more than Crysis, the Villain is the best and the Content is great & big fun!) Hell, even SWTOR with all the Updates since it`s Release delivers much more Fun.Content than MWO ever did, also for free. If you look for team-oriented Gameplay, then definitely try out -> DOTA 2 LOL Titanfall Upcoming Games, which i am really looking forward to: The Witcher 3 (Absolutely Grande and Sexy! Byebye Skyrim) The Division Far Cry 4 Civilization Beyond Earth Dreadnought http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CYVcad54xWw Homefront: The Revolution Hellraid
dark souls 2 really one of my fav games this year, played it 300+ hours if you like 3rd person fantasy which is very hard to finish, its something you should do Blackguards (The Dark Eye, set into a top view rpg) really fun, but not quite finished yet, still fun to play Spec Ops: The Line shooter with very good Story FTL: Faster than light fun scifi game where you travel through 8bit space and try to rescue the universe by killing the bad. real fun Legend of Grimrock Hardcore Dungeon Crawler with riddles and all that, fun for a playthrough Crusader Kings 2 Hardcore roundbased strategy, very hard to learn (i gave up after 3 hours) Hawken (f2p) Fastpaced mech fps with respawn and unique mechs sounds similar to mwo but is quite different and much faster to play than mwo, still you dont die within 1 second like most fps thats about all which jumps to my mind
My father plays a lot of ArmA 3 but I didn't find it very appealing. Planetside 2 is something I sometimes start out of pure boredom, Torchlight 2 (as already suggested) is fun, A bit cartoony but I enjoyed it more than Path of Exile which became quite boring. Hawken is something I used to play and pretty good, I'm just using that time for Guild Wars 2 nowadays. While MOBAs like DotA 2 and LoL might not be up your alley with all the raging whiny children, SMITE is another very good game in the genre, except it's 3rd person and has a cool theme about gods from mythology. And you have every god in game for $30 instead of $30 for one mech.
Hi, my name is kami and im a CS addict... err.. i mean MWO addict. I actually haven't played CS in a long while. Now i'm looking forward to learning how to pilot some mech and how to suffer while grinding them. Then again, i haven't spent as many hours and my account is has nowhere near as many credits as Michael's. p.s. Very nice Dreadnought trailer Blagg! didn't even know that such a game was on the horizon. Looks awesome.
Can you elaborate a lil bit on these 2, before I go off and spend an hour looking into them myself? Also, anyone know much about Divinity: Original Sin?
no idea about divinity: original sin ... for crusader kings i cant tell you much more than its a turn based strategy/reality based game, usurping other thrones to gain more land and assassinations, other than just conquer them. was too complicated for my taste, anything more you'd have to read yourself for blackguards, if you remember Baldurs Gate, its pretty similar, but with less content for now and base on (a pretty basic) 'The Dark Eye' rulebook and not 'D&D' having a main character which you build yourself and following a story where you can pick up several other characters for a max 4 or 5 man party theres a main story with a few sidequests, takes about 60-70 hours hours to play through
Soy, I've got Crusader Kings 2. It's plays much like Europa Universalis except set in the Crusades time period. I didn't really care for it and haven't touched it a very long time. The only thing that really stands out about it in my memory is that it has a marriage/heir system in the game to secure your dynasty. The idea is to breed up a super king, I went the other way with it. I'd find the absolute worst marriage candidates to get the worse traits. Finally ended up with a hunchbacked, club footed, harelip, retard king so I quit playing figuring I'd won the game.
I laughed at this for like 5 minutes, nice dude. Reminded me of this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qvGWM3Lw5RA
Why pay real money for Kitfoxes? They're lights! If you're gonna pay real money, get the biggest ones (Direwolf and Warhawk, and maybe Timberwolf). The different Clans all cost the same for real $$$, but for C-Bills, the smaller the 'Mech, the easier it is on your C-Bank account. Just saying.
Crusader Kings can be fun, but VERY frustrating when you spend all your time working on the perfect heir and his idiot brother somehow convinces the Pope to excommunicate you and all hell breaks loose (or all heaven?). Usually I keep the game to local multiplayer with friends, and it's much more fun, especially as you (generally) have someone on your side. Internet play is iffy I hear, and has connection issues. Divinity: Original Sin is interesting? I tried for a bit, and maybe it's my computer, but things seemed a little slugish. The basic game idea feels kinda like Titan Quest/Diablo, and I was very excited when I could use a flare spell to ignite the oil slick I had just cast the turn before. Once I get more time into it, I'll know how I feel about it, but it's initial impressions are favorable if you discount the slight slugishness in the controls. P.S. I am stubborn, and haven't played TOR ever since one of my High School buddies got an invite into the beta, and I, a die hard Star Wars fan from birth, had to wait until a stress test weekend. Grumble Grumble...
