XP Capping this variant, I was having a lot of trouble balancing heat to an effective striker. I tried 8 MLas, 8 SPL, 8MPL, 2xLLas, 2xMLas, 2xSLas and many combinations therein. This is what I settled on for maximum heat to effective damage. Works well as ranged-support and sniping, of course, but can also use it's speed to separate from contact, making the most of the heat savings of PPCs over ERPPCs. I've been having a lot of success both in captures and damage/kills with this build. Still hot, so, overall I'd give it a B+.
If nothing else, you can add Ferro to bring up the armor protection to 304. Considering how deadly missiles are now-a-days, that might be warranted. I think that you managed the heat issues very well. Inside 90, use the smalls, outside 90, use the PPCs. As long as you never overlap the two, your cooling efficiency is 60% or higher.
Still not real happy with this build. I know mediums will rarely outscore the big guys but with this speed, I had higher hopes. The light armor in side-torso slots means a fast mech is a quick drop. I've run it with all combos of lasers and PPCs and I've done fairly well with 1LL and an array of SPL, SL and ML to maintain distance but still tear into a mech once they are in close... Just not getting a lot out of the 1X before those candy side slots get stolen from this baby. It's basically a slower scout, with a larger hitbox and a slightly better firepower. But my Jenner goes 150 and is half the size. Hmm... This build is still up for debate in my mind.
No. I hate AMS. I hate it! I hate it with the fury of a million burning suns and the passion of a Georgette Heyer novel! Whoa... Got a little carried away... With this speed, I have never found LRMs to be troublesome. I can easily break contact or find cover and save myself 1.5 tons. However, if it's how you run, by all means, load 'er up! Chatt.
Since you cannot use the PPC up close anyways, add two SLas. Heat will not be an issue since ranges of PPC and SLas does not quite overlap. Smaller Engine Version (but you can take out one DHS for that, you can even add FF for more armor) Amazing how much you can get for taking out one DHS... You get the tonnage and slot for TWO MLas!!!
I would say this build is average. you have a very high speed, so you can dodge missiles easily enough.
