My most recent one happened during this weekend's tournament. Another lurmageddon drop however it being highly pitched. I will spare you all the preceding swearing and tactical (mis)calculations typical to group queues. So in the end minutes of the match a severely damaged Remarius (IFR) and a severely damage (burgundy CT) PyckenZot (SCR) are left to fight 4 remaining severely damaged enemies which we rather quickly reduce to 2 (a STK and AWS). Holding our ground the 2 assaults decide to move on us. Having previously made my position visible, the AWS moves aggressively around the corner behind which I am hiding only to take 18 SRMs in his open side torso destroying his XL engine. The STK meanwhile is pushing hard on Remarius, so I decide to distract him. I alpha,... Shut down,... ... 3 seconds later I blow up. Rems kills the STK and we win the math. Hilarious laughter over TeamSpeak,...
::headdesk:: So there I was. Launching in my AWS-9M. Sweet! So I get connected... and realized that I was excessively light on weaponry. Like, about half my armament was gone. Then it hit me, I stripped the ER PPCs off to share with my TDR-9S until I had enough c-bills for it to get its own (*just* bought a D-DC)... So, with my two ER Large Lasers I proceeded to... not do great. But I didn't die.
I didn't read the patch notes when they grouped cERSLases and cERMLases together for ghost heat. So, of course, I turned my poor Nova prime into a crater. I can forgive myself that mistake once or twice, but not four times. After that, I changed my build. Clearly, I lacked the self-control necessary to pilot a clan laser boat.
I'll raise you one. I apparently missed that particular patch note. I was wondering why my Nova was running so frigging hot lately...
I had a big uproar with my unit last night who started opening windows and googling module and SSRM6 info because with 12% module, targeting computer (Missiles though, derp) and by my pure skill my SRMs had a range of 500m. This really excited and confused me and I started interrupting everyone and asking them their range which was a paultry 400m or so. I had to know why I had 100M, maybe a hidden benefit of TC1? ... Yeah, was looking at ammo......
1. I killed a friend while trying to give him the award for having x% hp left at the end of the game ....I mixed up RT and LT on his Nova. He was a bit pissed because he was waiting for that one quite a while 2. Dropping in a mighty Jagermech DD, the ultimate dakka machine and only having 4 MGs mounted...didn't carry that game. The "Back" and "Save" button in the mechlab are almost as irritating as RTs and LTs.
Just had one of these . . . loaded up my Warhawk with what was supposed to be a pretty sweet setup . . . dropped it into a match, and realized something had gone horribly wrong: I had no UAC10 ammo! (I grabbed standard AC10 ammo by mistake.) Needless to say, it was very frustrating and hilarious. I still managed to pull off 250~ damage . . . with an Ice-Ferret's loadout on a Warhawk!
