The Awesome does not get much love, which is why I LOVE it...Who can't get 3+ Kills in an Atlas/Gauss Cat.... Sure looks white bread, doesn't it. I have done my best hunting in this Mech because it is HARD to over heat while delivering DPS. Just keep it moving and learn to shoot on the run.... This build can alpha twice in 3 seconds and be at 96% heat. It delivers 18 damage with the Rt Arm twin mounted LLsrs. I keep it at 200m outside the "circle of death" and backshoot or dismember enemy mechs then reposition. You can run it with a Standard 275 and 1 less Med Lsr and have it be nearly as combat effective. I miss my 70kph Awsome, much better in this role. Looking forward to running a 9M with a 350XL
I have yet to play with an Awesome in game (I'm a light Circle of Death Retard) but looking at the armor profile on this mech is daunting for sure. I just picture a WWII Battleship worth of armor on here Are these actually the same machine though? Switching from LLasers to PPCs and having a different role means it's essentially a different build. Maybe split it up in two posts and on one have it Dreadnaught Mk1 (Close Range) and Dreadnaught Mk2 (Medium Range)
It's fun to dogfight in the circle of death, I have a few builds for that as well! Don't let the Armor value fool you, the Awsome has LARGE head (the largest and gets targeted first!) and torso hit boxes and will get gunned down by a missle boat or Atlas VERY fast. The Armor is very good if you use cover and keep it moving. I am REALLY looking forward to building a 9M variant. With the ability to get it moving 70kph+ & double HS, you might make a brawler out of this Mech yet!
I used this build alot (but with STD engine), and after laser HSR (or w\e this called=) i start using this build heat is an issue but i use chainfire in brawl and alpha only like in 300< range.
I like the concept of this build, but I also recommend to use STD Engine. I think i will test a triple LPLas build for nonstop chainfire. Have some MLas as Backup and you can Alpha as Finisher on Weakpoints.
