My game play video of Skribs LRM 40 Rainman Build found in the Stalker 3H section.

    http://www.mechspecs.com/forum/index.php?topic=1577.0

This is my favourite 3H build and also my only Stalker build where the XL engine is truly key.
This is a solo pug drop and basic skills are 8/8.

[size=1em]TAG really does seem to increase damage and with so many missiles I have found that it is almost better to just spam volleys when soloing and the damage will increase. Also if you have TAG on the target you must have LOS and so you get the benefit of Artemis as well.

[size=1em]This build really works for me when solo because with such good close weaponry for an LRM boat you can keep close to the main pack and amply defend yourself from lights. A couple of volleys of SSRM's and ML's and they soon tend to back off. This also makes BAP key to ensuring the build remains fully functional in nearly all situations.

These days I try and have AMS in all my builds and this is no exception particularly on long range builds there seems to be plenty of LRM's coming your way as there is often no ECM nearby.[size=1em]My weapon groups are

    Group 1 LRM's
Group 2 TAG - This is because I use a Razer Naga and find it easy to hold down the 2 button while firing LRM's with the 1 button.
    Group 3 ML
    Group 4 SSRM 2

With the varied weapons I do not have a group bound for an Alpha.

Props to Skribs for a great build that works well in the solo environment and when in teamed drops.

Note in the video above I am only using a Std 255 as did not have the CBills at the time of recording for the XL which I now have fitted hence the lower top speed and LRM ammo count.

My game play video of my preferred Stalker 3F PPC build found in the thread linked below.

    http://www.mechspecs.com/forum/index.php?board=80.0

This is a Solo pug drop and elite skills are 4/4.

Stalkers are at the moment infamous for their PPC boating builds and it is easy to see why. High mounted weapons for peeking over ridges and the ability to provide reasonable cooling for them.

While there are many variants of this build over all the Stalkers this is the one I use on my 3F. The match in the video above is really a poor match and yet it still puts out plenty of damage and even though there are many mistakes the video serves the purpose of showing why I prefer a full rack of ER PPC's rather than just the normal ones with less heat.

The additional range provided by the ER PPC's more often than not allows plenty of time for cooling after an Alpha so I do not find the additional heat too much of a problem.

However, the main reason I like ER PPC's aside from the range increase is the close range ability. It can allow you to move right into the pack when need or LOS is lost and engage at very close range. Indeed in the video it appears that a Jaegermech went point blank with me I guess assuming I was boating normal PPC's with a minimum range without checking my loadout. I over heated twice there but with plenty of survivability against his mech loadout it ended in his death. (Thank god he didnt have dual AC/20)

There is no doubt with the ER PPC's heat can be a problem and it does need managing Pilot skills are key to really making this build work with the heat efficiency improvements.

It is very survivable with a Standard Engine torso twisting is effective and the ability to lose 1 side torso and keep fighting. I even once won a game when all my weapons were destroyed by running off and capping. I also always try and fit AMS into my builds and there is no problem here with ability to maintain a high level of armour as well.

All in all one of my most powerful Stalker builds in the current game mechanics.

This has to be one of my favorite mechs I love playing the Misery and this build works really well for me.

    It can be found in the following thread;

    http://www.mechspecs.com/forum/index.php?topic=1262.0

The video was a Solo Pug drop with the Pilot skills mastered for that mech.

I would say it averages 400-500 damage on all maps with medium to close range combat.

The Alpine map with its long ranges mean that you will spend a fair bit of time in cover before engaging. However with AMS and a Std engine it is pretty survivable if keeping with the pack.

If you get caught on your own by a light you are in trouble but this applies to many assault class mechs.

I would say in terms of CBill gain and XP gain the video above is an above average round, though an average player should be able to get 1000 XP and 200K CBills per round that is won if on premium time.

I use 4 weapons groups as follows.

    Group 1 Left Side Lasers
    Group 2 Right Side Lasers
    Group 3 AC/20
    Group 4 All Lasers

Many people use the Gauss which I am not a fan off in this mech due to its easy to destroy and explosive nature which for me affects survivability.

You could drop AMS for more AC/20 ammo however I prefer where possible to have AMS on all my builds at the current time and I find 21 AC/20 rounds plenty if picking my shots, using the LL as my primary weapon with AC/20 providing the finishing punch when I have a good shot.

Overall I love this mech and use it as one of my 4 main CBill grinders with the other 3 being the Heavy Metal, the Firebrand and the Ilya Muromets.

Glad you like the build. I've done the ALRM60 awesome, 6xPPC stalker, Raven 3L (when they were king) and several large laser boats and poptart snipers...out of over 30 mechs in my mechbay, this is my favorite.

Why I like it is because you got decent up close and indirect weaponry, and insane direct fire support. If you have other LRM boats or SSRM users, you can even get tag bonuses.

[size=small]My game play video of my Stalker 4N PPC build found in the thread linked below.
    [size=small]
This is a Solo pug drop and elite skills are 4/4.

[size=small]Stalkers are at the moment infamous for their PPC boating builds and it is easy to see why. High mounted weapons for peeking over ridges and the ability to provide reasonable cooling for them.

While there are many variants of this build over all the Stalkers this is the one I am using on my 4N. The aim of the build was to judge the difference in less heat with 2 PPC and 2 ER PPC over my 3F build with 4 ER PPC. Does heat efficiency overcome flexibility over all ranges with PPC only boats. The match in the video above is interesting to show one that is close range city fighting rather than long range ridge sniping. I would say this was an average match in terms of damage and XP for close range PPC boat.

[size=small]The additional range provided by the ER PPC's more often than not allows plenty of time for cooling after an Alpha so I do not find the additional heat too much of a problem. However, the main reason I like ER PPC's aside from the range increase is the close range ability. It can allow you to move right into the pack when needed or LOS is lost and engage at very close range. As a result at the moment I am preferring the 4 ER PPC build in PUG drops, the heat saving just isn't enough to justify the downgrade unless going for a more specific 4 standard PPC build with a bigger engine for group drops.

[size=small]It is very survivable with a Standard Engine torso twisting is effective and the ability to lose 1 side torso and keep fighting. I even once won a game when all my weapons were destroyed by running off and capping. I also always try and fit AMS into my builds and there is no problem here with ability to maintain a high level of armour as well.

[size=small]In summary I prefer my 4 x ER PPC 3F build however felt it was important to show in a video a PPC stalker working in a city fight as opposed to ridge sniping on Alpine.

This is a Solo pug drop and basic skills are 8/8.

[size=small]The above video is an average game but it does show what the mech is capable of. It is a heavy mech that I play like a medium. The Std 300 gives it some speed but is also survivable and the AC/10 provides some good punch when flanking which is what this mech excels at for me.

The video above is me in a solo pug drop with basic skills 8/8 using a very similar build to the one found in this thread.

    [size=small]http://www.mechspecs.com/forum/index.php?topic=1074.0

My actual build is posted in that thread, I basically use a bigger engine and slightly less armour and 1 less heat sink.

This is joint top favourite of all the stalker builds I have tried in combination with the 4 PPC boat all in the current meta of course.

I know many have a hate for PPC/LL boats however this is intended to be a competitive build that is most efficient in the current state of the game.

The video above is definitely an above average game for damage however it you could certainly expect to get 400+ damage on a regular basis.

The bigger engine really helps movement keeping up with the pack even flanking if necessary but with the need to keep the lasers on target the biggest bonus is the improvement to torso twist.

I would really like to have an AMS on this build as most of my builds do have it however the compromise in armour and heat sinks to do it is too much in this case. Any less heat sinks would seriously make this a hot mech and begin to reduce its damage output.

Overall a great build hope you enjoy the video.

The video above is a solo pug drop with basic skills 8/8.

The build is a modified version of Phorusrhacid build found here with my version posted there.

    http://www.mechspecs.com/forum/index.php?topic=2099.0

My current favourite Stalker boat build for pugs because of the 2 x AMS and the amount of LRM's I am seeing in games this really helps survivability.

Because of the reduced number of heat sinks I would not recommend 4 x ER PPC it is better to drop 2 for standard PPC's which really helps keep the sustained fire up.

The best Stalker PPC boat is still the 3F with 4 x PPC for 8 man drops however in pugs the 5S with 2 x ER PPC and 2 x PPC with those 2 x AMS in my opinion.

The video above is a solo pug drop with basic skills 8/8.

The build is a modified version of my original build that used streaks instead of SRM's. The build thread can be found linked below.

    http://www.mechspecs.com/forum/index.php?topic=2359.0

The game play in the video above is really how I believe this build should be played. I was lucky enough to have a very wide open map but this mech definitely seems to perform best operating out on the flanks and just behind the main line providing direct fire support. As such ER PPC's are needed for flexibility and the SRM's provide some punch up close.

It certainly is not the greatest mech around but this build certainly works for me.

This is a modified version of my original 3 PPC 1 Gauss Build.

To avoid the new Heat Stacking Penalty introduced during the recent July 13 Patch I have removed 1 PPC in favour of some SRM's and an AMS.

In the video there is a good indication of the heat efficiency of the build due to some prolonged engagements with enemy mechs. During these engagements SRM's were fired even though they are out of range to give more clarity of the heat efficiency when under pressure from several mechs at range and close quarters.

This is a great build from FuzzyBunny and the best for my style of game play for that Atlas variant. I was originally using a slight variation with an AC/20 instead of the gauss.

Since changing to the Gauss Rifle my efficiency in this build has increased and you get the advantage of having a ranged capability for those big open maps.

Props to FuzzyBunny for a great build that is a brawler with a ranged option.

You should do like Minoxen and post all your videos in a single thread. Half the threads on this forum is a video of yours, it's kind of floody.

Thanks Michael and good point Epikt I will try and keep everything to one thread.

There is a lot of talk about builds and people giving ratings and I am not sure how many of those ratings are people who have actually tested the build in game. The aim of the video's in this thread is just to show the build in game in combat during what I would call an average round for that build.

Therefore people can see heat levels, mobility, alpha strike damage etc of each chassis.

The guides I leave for Michael who in my view currently provides some of the best guides in the MWO community for the benefactors section of this website.

Don't sweat it man. I enjoy watching them. In the coming weeks I am actually going to be bringing on a video content creator for MechSpecs stuff as I just don't have time to crank out benefactors videos AND ride alongs AND AND AND AND ya know?
