I already dropped with the Phalanx build but I am no fan of the Gauss, I prefer the AC20 which you will find in this build along with a slightly upgraded engine and a smaller LRM pack. Other then that, it should perform in the same role as the Phalanx. Push up, brawl, intercept the enemy LRM paths and shut them down. This is untested but will be extensively played on the way to masters over the next few days. Expect a video soon.
I would say run the LRM20. you launch 10 missiles per volley, so it's not a bad idea to take advantage of that. 4-5 for the OP build and it's brawling ability.
I've been considering redoing old builds (the OP is really not working anymore with the 3xLLAS and the heat penalty) to fit the new heat system, your version also allows for better fire consistency on the LRM's.
