This is a loadout my unit 'discovered' when fighting a best of seven against another friendly unit including some self-imposed restriction regarding weight and amount of ECM allowed. I recreated the build in Smurfy's from what we saw on the battlefield and allthough this might not be exactly the identical build, this loadout turned out to be very powerful. Both the UACs and PPCs are strong long- and midrange weapons, whereas enemies closing in can be fought back by using the UACs plus SSRMs. Able to walk with the pack this build dishes out some serious damage all the while being still the tank one wants an Atlas to be. Please note that this loadout is currently in use on my HGN-733C as well. You can find the HGN here. It's possible that this particular loadout shines there even more. Absolutely love it.
Since you're only using 2 of the DDC's missile hardpoints, this build will work well in a DC with BAP.
As already mentioned with one of my 'Evil Dude' versions carrying UACs, this build runs a lot cooler now since the reduction of the UACs' firing rate. As the PPCs won't do any damage up to 90m anymore the SSRMs became more important. I don't think that another ton of ammo is necessary, though, as there are only 2 SSRM launchers. This thing is still pretty beasty when played right. The lone rating given until today doesn't reflect this build's power by a wide margin. Give it a try!
2 stars are definitely underrated. I'm not sure if it performs better or at least equal to a Double LLas + Triple Streaks/SRM4 version. Especially on the D-DC! I think this works better on the D.
The recent buff to LPLas led to re-evaluating some old builds of mine including this one. Removing the PPCs in favour of LPLas as well as removing one ton of UAC5 ammo allows to build this little monster: Changing a mech's main weapons usually requires starting a new thread, but for know I'll leave it like this. Will start a new thread if this turns out to be good.
