This prototype was constructed on a earlier discovery where a AC10 has almost the same DPS as an AC2. I've found when playing through my Highlanders that two AC2's dealing 8 damage a second (with fast fire) is quite the intimidating chainsaw. Combine that with the Large Lasers, and two AC2's can throw out 4+4+2.13+2.13 for 12.26 damage per second. That Highlander walks out of 9/10 matches with the most damage dealt, and that includes losing matches. Now this design swaps out one AC2 for a AC10, which gives it a slightly higher DPS at 12.66 with fast fire, but also gives it a nice burst damage weapon for potential sniping. Its also slightly more heat efficient than the AC2, which means a few less heat sinks are needed, and this thing can also fit in more SRM's and a ECM in top of it all. I'm thinking it might be a good idea to swap out the AC10 for a LBX-10, but I wasn't sure whether focused damage or high crit chance spread damage would be better for this model.
Interesting concept. I like the double LLas and the AC10. But everything else is bumping up the Heat too much. And Artemis can be dropped, if you downgrade to Triple SRM4s (same Spread, less Punch but more Cool). Personally i would also replace the AC10 by the LBX.Version to bump up the Heat Efficiency. Furthermore i would try to load an STD325 for more Speed. Its damn aweful to run with 50kph nowadays. Besides having an extra Heatsink.Slot in the Engine, makes you run cool even losing the Sidetorsos. here a suggestion: try your version, then try this and then report your results.
The AC2/AC10 or LBX10 combo is my base build for all D-DC variations. It gives this variant a solid dps for the tonnage and heat. The energy and missile slots i like to play with just for the fun. If found this variant expecialy useful when there are more lights in the enemy team. Unfortunately you loose a lot of dps against heavies and assaults, but i believe that the brunt of the damage comes from the balistic combo and the LLs.
