Hi there, this is my first post on Mechspecs, the name IronhideDDC.

I always has been an Atlas fan and i must say the best Atlas out there is still the DDC.
Being one of the biggest mechs out on the battlefield, one really needs the ECM to cover up.

I always have favor the short range brawler and i believe one of the most common short range Brawler for DDC should be 2 Mlas + AC20 + Triple SRM6.

So here is my version of Short Range Brawler DDC

    **With Command Console**

This is the second version without the Console, more armor and better heat

The play style for this build:-

    1) Don't pop out for just to get shot at, always move in from cover to cover, your armor is precious!
    2) Only use the large laser when you need some range fire, avoid using them when in a brawl
    3) When brawling, Focus using the AC20 and Triple SRM6 only to manage your Heat.
    4) Always cycle between your AC and SRMs, avoid Alpha Strike if possible to manage heat, only use Alpha when really need that punch
    5) When Brawling, always practice torso Twisting after you fire your AC and/or srm to cover from shot with using the arms.
    6) If possible, try sneaking behind your targets until lets say...200 -> 150m?? and blast him! Its a sure-fire way to take down targets fast. I call it *Doing the Ninja Atlas* :phear: :phear:
    7) One last thing, never never EVER Shutdown when doing a brawl, you will regret it! :p :p

As for Modules, currently i'm using:-
    1) Hill Climb/UAV
    2) Advance Sensor Range
    3) Target info Gathering
    4) Advance Seismic Sensor

I know its not the best build out there but it works for me, please rate/leave comment, let me know what you guys think!

    Thanks
    Regards!

What does the Command Console do for you? I have seen it used in LRM builds for the range and Target gathering. Not clear how it gives a brawler a 3 ton advantage.

Well, the command console buff up the zoom by 12% i think, and sensor range by 6%, but the most important is its also buff up target info gathering time by -42.5%
Since i use a target info gathering module, its like a super buff :p
I can get the info of the enemy mechs way faster so i can make faster decision on which part to strike.

    Welcome on the forum.
This is an unusual build you got here...

    Some thoughts:

1/ I think that both the command console and the advance sensor range module are useless on a brawler build. Well, we can discuss the console (I'm a huge fan of the "target info gathering" effect) if only you got tonnage to waste...
2/ but it looks you're already short: 4 armor points a shield arm is awfully low.
3/ as I write on almost every Atlas post  large engine (ie >300) on the Atlas comes at a tremendous cost in tonnage for almost no mobility gain.

Here's a proposition, keeping the speed and asymmetrical loadout but with better armor and firepower:

Well, i have advance sensor range lying around and since DDC has 4 module slot so i just put it in there.
It does helps me to locate the enemy early in the match which will provide me vital information where and how many are located in that area.

As for the console, its more like a trail testing for me :D I normally run without one which is the second build i post below.

As for the 350 engine, the moving speed is not what i am aiming for. I aiming for the reaction speed of the atlas when brawling for those torso twisting. As well as it can help to relocated/re position my Atlas fast for those cover to cover movement.

I used to run a 325 engine, but even since i got to 350 engine i kinda suck at 325s now :p
