AS7-D-DC Hammer MKII (1x AC20, 3x SRM6, 2x MPLas, AMS, STD350)

I've been fiddling with Atlas builds trying to make a nice brawler. I'll have to give this a try. I do semi-premades on Outreach and pug too. I think that I saw you while pugging a few days ago. I saw "Bilbo" and figured that we were probably facing a 4 man pre-made. Whoever that "Bilbo" was, they tore it up.

started out as a Chunker, then moved to a Boxer, and now this!

The Ac/20 packs some amazing punch, the SRM6 is great for peppering the enemy 'mech and snagging crits!
I downgraded the MPL to ML, dropped a smaller engine in it (STD 300) and have a bit more ammo and an ECM.

Simply amazing!

This is essentially the build I stumbled on after Artemis came out, only difference is I replaced AMS with ECM, at least temporarily.
I was hoping you could elaborate on how you trimmed enough weight for a 350 and DHS. I'm still chugging along with a 300 in both my Atlai. I've already seen benefit in DHS without endo, but can you really install a 350 in this monster with only 1 external DHS? Also, did you fill the engine slots for heat sinks as well, for a total of even more? I don't usually blueprint my mechs, but I don't think I'm really going to understand how you've managed to up the engine rating for the AS7 without noticeable sacrifice unless I strip mine down and start over. Where does the weight/DHS balance tilt in the right way on the engine scale? 325? 350?

 

Awesome build, love it. I stripped some leg armour off mine so I could fit a teeny tiny bit more ammo.

The key to get the 350 is to run Endo steel and DHS. The 350 allows you to put 4 of the DHS inside the engine itself, and the Endo steel frees up the weight to get the bigger engine.

 

Mk. III is working extremely well. A few issues with range but better aim with the AC/20 may help that.

 

So I built this thing and after a search it seems someone had the same idea. It's slighty diff than the OP's build.

Not a good idea to go toe to toe with this thing. Ever.

 

I took this out for a spin again to see if it still worked, and it does. You just have to get to SRM range first, and that's the hard part.

But within that range... It still cuts through anything, even a Dire Wolf.
