I got sick of running SRMs which were causing me to shut down while brawling so I decided to replace them with some LRMs to give some long-distance sting. I've opted to go with an AC/20 rather than the flavor of the month UAC/5s.

    So far, I like it!

It's a good build, I run something similar except I have 2 LRM10's and no Artemis.

Consider moving two tons of AC20 ammo to CT and that LRM ammo to the leg? You burn the AC in 14 shots, the 360 LRM in 24.

Yeah, looks solid. The LRM5+A feels a little inefficient to me (just in terms of the extra 1 ton for Artemis on a 2 ton weapon), but sadly saving that extra ton by going LRM15+A instead overloads the tubes... oh well.

    I kinda like Lan's suggestion of 2 x LRM10s, but since the Atlas has 3 Missile hardpoints (10/10/6 tubes) I wonder if you'd be better going LRM10 + LRM5 + LRM5 (saves 1 ton over 2 LRM10s).

Probably pretty marginal either way (with or without Artemis).

Yeah it would probably work without artemis, I just happened to have artemis left over on that chassis from the SRMS and I didn't want to pay to remove it ;)

I am currently testing a variant of your build. Instead of Artemis, I opted to go with 1 extra LRM5, and additional leg armor.

Also, I see the brawling power of the AC/20, but I'm hesitant due to the extremely short range (yeah, I know Atlas's are built to take a beating... maybe my playstyle I guess) I'm going to try out an AC/10 instead and stick an extra heat sink or a BAP... conveniently AC/10's have the same range as the LLas.

All in all, I like your build. :)
