Anyone ever wish their 'mech was a south paw?

I am right handed by nature, and apparently so is every 'mech ever made with an arm mounted weapon. Thats great for shooting out of cover to your right.

I don't know, it may just be me but I wouldn't mind the option to switch weapon arm preference i.e Centurion with a shield on the right and gun on the left.

If anything would just be nice for a change.

Unfortunately this could never come to pass as Battlemechs are assembled in large factories running assembly lines and not by people who were "right handed" or "left handed".

It would be like saying "You know what? Let's send out a run of Glock 9mm where the shells eject from the left side so that all the left handed people can feel the love"!

You will just have to learn to live with it :ph34r:

They do sell slides to convert Glocks to eject from the other side for south paws. I have 2 south paw gun nut friends who have converted their service Glocks for that reason.

The important word there is converted. If we can take these factory line installed engines, weapons, heat sinks, ammunition storage/feed and electronics out and swap them around any way we wish then what stops those same technicians from swapping arms?

Cars come off the assembly line the very same way and you should see what us good 'ole boys can do with them.

An ambidextrous centurion. Sounds like a mech piloted by the unheard of and totally made up out cast third cousins room mate of Justin Xiang-Allard. We will call it the 'Wang Dang Lo'. I like it.

    Garth! Hero mech here.

Untamed, speaking as a southpaw gun nut, there is very little in the gun industry for lefties (and 99% of the models with ambidextrous features aren't fully ambidextrous). But that's getting off-topic...

I haven't played Centurion, but I've noticed with the Dragon 1C, for example, that you can boat Large Lasers or ER PPCs on the left, or you can put heavy ballistics on the right. My builds are generally balanced. If you want to play left flank, maybe change the build and do something different to put equipment on the left.
