Any Star Citizens out there?

Very, very unlikely that they'll do that. I'd love for a second Javelin sale, but i don't think that will happen neither will LTI on anything else than the first concept sales.

If you are desperate for a LTI Gladius we can talk, as i have a extra one i could perhaps part with for a fair price.

 

@Bolththrower I'll hold off on your very generous offer for the moment but may come back to you. I need to see if caps come up next week because if they don't I may pick up a pack and both ones I was looking at include the Gladius (plus Isris-P or Idris-P, Idris-M and 890). Had started saving up for one of them but am woefully short of the extra I'd need so it would end up going on the CC which itself increases costs a lot.

Of course I could just be sensible and take it as a note to save the money. :0

Oh yeah tbh theres a lot of people who could sort it for me if I wanted the package - the problem though is that I'd want to melt items to subsidise it and that won't work.

The $5k package I can pay off reasonably quickly and I'd keep most of my extra packages/content as it doesn't include most of the better ships I already have (aka I'd keep all my extra hanger options, concept item buy ins and NPC's). From memory I'd need to fund about $3,300 to get the Idris-P and Gladius.

The $10k would need paying off over a few months, particularly as the £ vs $ dropped from 1.55 to 1.48 in a week, and I'd basically have to melt everything and lose all the concept etc extra's. Essentially I'd need to fund $6,565 to get a Idris-M, Idris-P, 890 yacht and Gladius.

Realistically with cc charges I don't think the larger package is a tenable prospect and I'm refusing to pay $12,000 for a $10,000 package... or $8,565 to get a Idris-M, Idris-P, 890 yacht and Gladius....

 

Yeah the CDN dollar dropped a fair bit this week too. I think we are down to .80 against the US 1.00... Boooooo....

Basically wait and see what they announce for sale on Monday 26th as we have no idea currently. I personally love the look of the Gladius but use a Super Hornet as I don't have it. Neither are cargo carriers though.

Jan 26th sale will be wave 1 and wave 2 ships including limited time ships (Freelancer MIS, Cutlass Blue etc.)

LIST OF WAVE 1 AND 2 SHIPS Note the list contain ALL ship, including capital calls ships not created yet. Also capital class ships will most ölikely NOT go on sale that means no Javelin Destroyer or Idris M/P. Reclaimer Carrack or any other wave 3 concept stage ship will not be on sale

If thats what you're looking for then id point you at the Avanger it does all the things you want, it has decent guns + missiles (hardpoints), it is supposed to be fast (in a straight line) and rather nimble (might no out maneuver a light fighter but out gun it it will) and it can carry some cargo or bounty depending on what you are doing.

Ofc you could go for a Hornet 7FC but then to haul cargo you sacrifice a turret mount and carries a LOT less. If you're looking for anything bigger then its the Cutlass but then you're looking at a 2 players for optimized play.

Meh totally pointless sale for most people then. Its basically just a rehash of all the stuff they regularly offer w/o concept, w/o caps and w/o LTI. A last attempt for CGI to grab some cash before their sales drop.

 

YUP! Only reason to buy if you are a new player that has held of on buying and still want to get a pack before the "VAT gate".

Tho who knows they might have a surprise in store but i doubt it. If the Javelin or Idris is on sale id be surprised.

Guess i'm getting a non EU VPN and starting a non EU bank account i aint paying 24% VAT on my ships hell no!

@Bolththrower and I were talking about this last night on TS3. That is just fricken INSANE 24% tax on digitial goods? Granted you make up for it other ways with your %18 income tax versus my 32% income tax (and I'm only in a middle bracket). It goes as high as 42% here in Canada I think).

 

Yeah ours is scaled in the UK: £0 - £31,865 20%, from 31,866 40%, over £150,000 45%. We get an allowance though of £10,000 and then the rest is taxed at the relevant rate above, aka the next 31,865 is at 20%.... etc.

We then pay National Insurance of between 0% and 12% (its hard to generalise).

Then you have Council Tax which is based on the local Council budget and the value of your property....

20% VAT on the supply of most goods and services.

Then they get sneaky....

For every £1.30 of fuel at the pump, 50 pence goes to the seller, 58p is fuel duty and 22p is VAT.....

Hefty tax on tobacco and alcohol...

Yeah government like tax here............

VAT wise, last time I checked we had 3 rates. 6% for basic need goods, 12% for economically important goods and 21% for the rest.

And off course there are additional taxes for fuel, smokes, inheritances, etc, etc,... as @Remarius said. Governements here like their taxes
