Guys made a simple macro using the Logitech gaming mouse macro editor that allows me to fire the gauss with one click instead of having to time it. Timing it without a macro means precious wasted milliseconds between when it is fully charged and when its fired. It does not affect button one so the Gauss can be precharged when going around corners etc but gives you the added option of being able to 1 click it which is useful in stressful brawling.

While this was made using the macro editor for Logitech mouses any gaming mouse or keyboard macro editor should work as long as you can add delay.

The 800 milliseconds varies depending on YOUR normal latency. I would recommend adding your in game latency in milliseconds to 750ms (charge time of the gauss) and then 5% as a buffer for when you do have higher than normal lag. A person who normally averages 50 ping would want to set their delay to 750+50+3ms or 803ms. This will prevent failure to fully charge or failure to charge with the first click.

Too bad I want to fire not when the gauss is charged, but when the target is aligned with the crosshair...

Except if there is something I don't understand, this macro makes it a weapon that fires with massive delay without the possibility to cancel the shot, and will result in a lot of wasted ammo, especially for snipers.
Maybe in a brawl, if the target doesn't move...

I see where you are coming from Epikt, and for some people that might be an issue. For the expert snipers though they won't have a problem adapting macro to their play-style because they already know "when to take the shot" and when not to. I would guess there might be the odd wasted round now but there always was to some degree or other.

Great for snipers, but, it does hold the Gauss to mainly a sniping-only weapon. A lot can happen in 4.75 seconds if you miss one of those shots. I still have no problem jump sniping. Just can't fight as well up close. :D

I agree with you, but I think a guy knowing when to take the shot will also be able to use the gauss as it is, with more flexibility. Especially the poptarts.

A more useful macro would be one firing PPCs when you release the gauss key.

You still can use the Gauss as it is. The macro does not prevent you from precharging then choosing not to shoot it only gives you the option for a 1 click shoot if that is what you want. Both are demonstrated in the video. If I am sniping if I choose to hold fire after charging I can do this. In a brawl I may want to be able to concentrate on other things in which case this can do that too by simply 1 clicking the Gauss using the macro.

As I said before this is a macro so it uses one of your macro buttons on your mouse or keyboard can be assigned whichever you prefer. I rarely have more than 3 and 4 TOPs mouse buttons assigned so as I have it now on mine its

    LMouse - Gauss normal
    RMouse- Group 2
    Mouse 3 - Group 3
    Mouse 4 - Gauss 1 click.

So as you see if I want to shoot the Gauss as it is now in game its just the left mouse button as always (or any other button totally your choice) but if I choose the situation warrants a single click then I just press my mouse button 4

    Macro not needed at all.

That's like saying you needed a macro to be good in Mega Man 3 or something.

In fact I think a macro for Gauss hurts you, to be honest.

This took about 3 drops to get used to the new charge rate, but I do think you would be better off developing your timing than trying to get a Macro to do it for you.

Combined with Advanced Zoom you can really pick your point of damage now.

Guys talk about much ado about nothing.

I will say it again because some of you are subconsciously or intentionally missing the 3 times I have said this and have even demonstrated it in the video that; you do NOT have to limit yourself to the 1 click or manual option. This macro gives you both. If you want to 1 click just click and release and forget. If you want to charge it and fire it 100% normally simply hold the button down like you would anyway. It's that simple. Please don't make this out to be more than it is. It was just an added OPTION that you could use or not as you choose. Aren't having MORE options better?

Personally in close quarters I like the ability to just click without distracting myself from managing heat, protecting my weakspots and dodging without having to add the burden of trying to time my shot so that I do not waste a charge.

Dude, of course having options is great.

But then again, developing your own personal firing cadence and the utility that a masterful cadence brings to the table is more respectable at the end of the day.

This games already sliding into macro-spam, given the noobs who tossed away their PPCs in favor of macro'd 2/5/uax combos...

    No disrespect. Just sayin.

If someone likes usin a macro for Gauss, I say let em macro til their hearts content. But they'll never truly be as good as they would be, otherwise.

Macros supercede the natural learning processes needed to be a true lord with a wep.

rarely i agree with Soy, but this time i'd say hes right. Same thing when people say you dont need to unlock your arms, you just need better positioning. You're not allowing yourself to get better because you just avoid the learning curve that separates the average players from the pros
