Pootytangsaur, I'm well aware of the relatively bread and butter XL 300 2xUAC5, 6xML...though I vastly prefer the 2xAC5, 6xML w/ AMS version I have...
So, I've noticed in my games that, pilot skills being equal, using the XL in my favorite Firebrand build just isn't holding up the way it used to....
Running this pretty much the same, but with one ton of AC5 converted to a second ton of AMS. Had a 1500+ dmg match last week in it...still lovin'...
[MEDIA] I run this build on my Firebrand with one less AMS and one extra heatsink. Figured I'd give it a shot with the 9S...it's working pretty well...
I know I'll be running this: [MEDIA] It's basically identical to my Firebrand build, except it runs a heatsink hotter in trade for the second AMS....
So, with missiles appearing more and more...there's a sick part of me that wants to take out a hefty brawler that can ID and NARC other people in the...
Normally I'd be all about rocking a full 7 medium lasers...ghost head be damned. But from my experiences in the Ember, the torso movement is a...
[MEDIA] Wouldn't dare try it without speed tweak...but 130 kph isn't TOO bad. Not saying this'd be competitive...but I bet it'd be a lot of fun, and...
[MEDIA] Dual AMS with 2 tons of ammo for helping with the team and/or knocking down streaks. ML in the arms, SPL in the chest. Hot...but manageable.
Because it's like a Jenner-F...but with fully articulating arms, and an additional 2 small pulses in the torso for quicker shots. Runs hot, but not...
Drop the engine down to an XL 265...slightly better cooling...I'd be curious to run it on Terra Therma and see what kind of consistent striking...
Good catch! Like a genius I didn't max armor values first. Heatsink dropped, armor values adjusted to what I actually run.
Hey all. I love the "Standard" Firebrand build...it's been my goto long before I even saw it on Mechspecs. For some reason I've seen more missiles...
I'm seeing most M builds using an XL...I use one in my protector, but it's more of a fire support build. I was looking for an Orion chassis to brawl...
Apnu, if you were to downgrade the engine and upgrade the ML to an ERLL...it's the same build I've been running. And yes, either or eats...
Had great games with this last night...reminds me a lot of my favorite Boar's Head build. Not too hot, tanks well, slightly faster that the Atlas....
Had decent luck with this last night...usually between 500-600 damage. Had one bad match of 200 where I went down early after getting separated. Runs...
For the record, post-patch, it STILL melts faces. This is the 'mech I jump in whenever I've had a few 'meh' matches to get my morale back up.
This is the build I finally settled on. It's cool-running, fast-firing and includes AMS. I keep shooting when other brawlers overheat. Shines at...
Blagg, I 100% agree :) It just seems like it could be fun, and I've been playing around with the variety the 6 energy arm slots provide.
[MEDIA] Large laser haymakers, small laser jabs, ac20 uppercuts. Not terribly sure how serious I am with this build...but it's one I think would be...
The original build only has 2 tons of LRM+A ammo because I was finding that, originally, when I played with 3 AC20 tons and 3 LRM+A tons I was...
[MEDIA] It brawls, it missiles, it's not TERRIBLY hot for a lot of the Boar's Head builds out there. A single SRM slot just didn't seem worth...
Yeah, this isn't a "rush out first" build...though with the CT hitbox, I'm not sure that's a style I'd want to use any Orion for. This is a cleanup...
Hi guys. This is my end-all-be-all favorite 'mech. It's a consistently high kill, assist and damage performer. It's got punch, speed, some distance...
Playing around with a mixed weapons build, I found that I rather liked this. 2 LL in the arms provide decent tracking, with the LBX-10 and Machine...
I changed it up a bit. Figured 4 streaks with BAP would do me better than 8 srms without Artemis. Also upgraded to an ERLL, upped the engine to a 350...
Took this out for a spin last night...runs a little hot, but has good punch, decent speed and every death 'core' was a CT. XL seems alright in this...
