While I do have appreciation for the 3x UAC2 Dragons, I think this setup works far better in the casual environment. It requires less face time to deal the big damage. The AC2 are just suppression dps, while the UAC10 is the slap in the face. Example game on Polar Badlands, Conquest: I'm interested in hearing anyone thoughts on the build, because I haven't seen any around. Unfortunately, I think this outperforms the Fang
@alphameric That is an interesting take on the -5N. I don’t like uac2, too much clicking and too much facetime. However, the UAC10 adds a lot of front loaded damage, so this may work better for me. Thanks. Dragons catch all incoming fire with their beer belly CT anyway In the case of the 5N, losing the right ST means you are completely disarmed. Pun intended. So the only difference between XL and LFE is the ability to lose the left ST and keep going . I’d say that is pretty rare.
The DGN-5N is one of the few mechs that should use free look with a permanent torso twist. Baradul explains it best (link). So I'm not so sold on using an XL engine.
