Casual NVA-Prime "Trainer" (6xcSPL 6xERuL, cAP, TC1)

Thread in 'Nova Omni Builds' started by Remover of Obstacles, Dec 4, 2018.

  1. This is a trainer mech that forgoes machine gun staring and forces the pilot to use good habits like good torso twisting and shot placement. Go forth and practice your jump jet brawling skills.

The ranges on the ER micros and small pulse sync up well, the cool downs are off by a bit - but manageable.

Capable of 500+ games with lots of kills. Also possible to get sub 200 games on polar highlands or alpine if team positioning doesn't work out. This is not a strong mech. Pick your battles carefully.

Omnipod D side torsos have armor quirks or go all Prime for set of 8.

Good build concept. 20 heat sinks is the magic number for Novas right now. I would definitely go for another heat sink or two, but then you are getting an unrealistic perspective that omits how difficult and hot the Nova can be.

Polar Highlands is actually one of my favorite places for a short range Nova in a brawl because you out-DPS everything short of maybe an optimized Gargoyle and a handful of other mechs.

I learned Novas the hard way with 10 ERMLs which I can’t recommend in the current state of the game. This build is better.
