We need more PGI threads like this - MM Update!

    In true PGI fashion, why don't we have 17 tiers already? For 'optimal player separation based on skill and finer tuning of the MM system' ;)

    That said though, looks like an interesting change. Don't know WHY that thing was set to a 3-tier difference in the first place, I thought they'd fixed this already way back.

    Yeah I really dunno. The tier system was never all that great to begin with, but it becomes very difficult to carry a bunch of brawling potatoes who have no idea how to deal with a wall of other potatoes with lrms, or who just can't even aim and the enemy team can to some degree aim...

    I could go on all night about it, but in order to preserve any shred of sanity I won't.

    Just this one thing:

    I'd be much happier if we had '91' tiers and 5 skill points to distribute (across a selection of up to 20 really impactful skills). (Ideally a bit less than 91 tiers, but the point is that they oversimplify matchmaking, and overcomplicate supplemental systems like skill tree).

    Matchmaking has to be mostly simple or wait times would be measured in hours. If you had 91 tiers, there would be non-zero odds nobody else on your tier is even logged in
