    So the Smurfy for the Kraken is off on the Armor values, here's the actual values;

    Arms: 0
    ST: 92 Front/20 Back
    CT: 127 Front/28 Back
    Legs: 99

I've been thinking long and hard about how best to use this thing in PUG and the best I can come up with is to imitate the classic AC/20 4xSRM6 spear tip we all know and love. To compensate for the lack of missile hardpoints in the LT I decided to slap a pair of MRM 30s in there. Strip the armor off your target with the MRMs, pinpoint crit components with your AC/20, kill the opponent, move on.

LFE 275 allows you to move at a decent clip and since all the weapon systems are in the STs going zombie isn't possible anyway. Can't get both Endo and FF so I figured that more armor would be best.

This is my first build post on MechSpecs, so any critique would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

    Welcome to mechspecs!

It should work: my only critiques are about the complete lack of armor in the back, the complete lack of armor on your arms despite having such slow RoF weapons (very debatable), and finally ammo imbalance between weapons.

EDIT: smurfy never considers quirks (armor, cooldown, heat, range, anything), so things like armor values are not representative and purely indicative: more than often they only show how much armor you have to strip to fit everything or how cool / hot it will be without quirks.

In particular about armor, I assume that whatever armor values I will have up front, I would fit at least X armor on my back.

About the lack of armor, be mindful enemy airstrikes / artilleries will also hit your back, so they will start damaging you structure and potentially crit any ammo in your CT (you need to be unlucky), plus piranhas and other light mechs they will shot on your back whenever they have a chance to, so I always fit between 5 and 10 armor on my back. The same applies to your head: always fit at least more than 11 armor, especially on assaults. 16 armor is even better because you can survive a lucky dual (non-heavy) gauss in the cockpit. 0 armor on head means one gauss and you are back to the mechlab.

About the arms, I'm quite sure Atlas' arms are huge and can shield efficiently, so I would add some armor and use them to soak up damage while approaching or during brawls: simply fire your weapons, torso twist on one side to shield with the "weaponless" arm to soak up the damage, aim back to the enemy and repeat. With a LE360 you don't have tonnage to spare, but if you downgrade to LE350 which can still holds 4 external DHS in the engine, you will lose ~2 km/h but get some tonnage to spare.

Ammo is not balanced: I would definitely swap at least 1 ton of AC20 ammo for a ton of MRM ammo.
You would go from 35 (45 with max ammo skills) shots and 600 (720) MRM ammo, which means from 10 to 12 MRM alpha strikes, to 28 (36) AC20 shots and 900 (1080) MRM ammo 15 (18) MRM alpha strikes.

If you swap 2 tons of AC20 to MRM ammo, you would have a even better 21 (27) AC20 and 1200 (1440) MRM ammo, which means 20 (24) MRM alpha strikes, which actually sounds good since MRM have longer range and could provide some suppression fire.

On a final note, you should edit the title of this thread and add the engine size of your build. For more info you can check the FAQ

I've fixed the title for now ^^ Welcome to mechspecs!

MRM ammo seems low, only 10 salvos. I'd try to fit around 4 tons for MRM60, preferably 5. For the AC20 I usually mount 3 preferably 4 (Assuming I get ammo skills). Carlo's adaptation by going down to a LE350 is probably your best bet at getting these extra tons :)

The FF is better replaced with Endo Steel, it gives even more armor and uses the last 2 slots for extra ammo in QP.

Thanks Excalibaard for fixing the title, I'll keep that in mind for future build posts. And to Carlo, I guess I'm just used to not having armor in the arms on my Warhammers when I pack ST only weapons. I'll try your build out.
