WARNING: EXPERIMENTAL BUILD - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED The ability to combine a Gauss and ER PPC in the same arm is unique. The convergence will be spot on making for potential to be a competent sniper. Slow and vulnerable with an XL engine stay away from most fights. I expect that this mech will be especially vulnerable to fast strikers like a CDA-2A or JR7-F. Still there's some potential - worth a try.
I've run a few variations of this build including an XL225 w/ Jenner armor, but have settled on XL195. I've had 3-4 back to back 600+ damage games using this tactic.
Posted the builds jc4 mentioned: I think an XL180 version would run good if you used that engine for your locusts, but XL195 as jc4 suggested gives you some much missed speed. XL225 is hard to make use of, I think you sacrifice too much armor in that case, but it IS possible:
