I liked the 4x, I liked the 2x too. I wanted to make an in-between hybrid of the two, the result is scary.

2LLas for any range engagement (except extreme long)
2UAC5 for any range engagement (also heat neutral when running hot)
2Mlas for extra close to mid oomph. (also great to use when too hot to use LLas)

    Weapon groups as follows:
    1- 2x LLas
    2- 2xUAC 5
    3- 2x MLAS
4-2xMlas 1x UAC5 (All arm mounted weapons for dealing with high/low targets and lights).

    Recommended Modules:
    -Radar Derp-privation
    -Mlas Range 5
    -LLas Range 5
    -UAC5 Cooldown (New!)

    Variant:

UAC5's changed to AC5. This provides you 2 tons to work with at the cost of one of the most amazeballs weapons in the entire game. I prefer to use those 2 tons to add heat sinks and change the Llas to ERLlas. You can also use it to put on 2 more jumpjets or an ams or whatever though.

    Final Variant:

UAC5's AND ERLlas. I don't like the beam duration of ER for mid or close range though. It does make a noticeable difference.

Here another variant with more ammo, one more JJ and a little less armor.

Glad you liked the setup Crucii. This is the setup I went in with for the solo chassis tournament. Average performance seems to be in the 500-800 damage range with at least 2 kills. I talked with some of the other CTF guys while I was dropping to see what they were running...most were running the ilya muromets with 3x UAC5 2x ML build, but somehow I still pulled the #1 spot in this 3D.

If you've seen me ingame, you already know I rage a lot.

    Hi Roegan,

any tips on how you stay alive and rake in those huge scores when you are using a vulnerable XL engine? constant poptarting?

It's a high risk, high reward build. Some rounds are great, some will be utter failures. It helps if you're in a low end skill bracket when people can't even detect/target XLs.

LOL i am certainly in that skill bracket at the moment. Any tips/strategies that would carry me into the higher brackets? =p

I am horrible at pop-tarting. I've done my fair share of hill humping with a gauss Grid Iron and quad PPC stalker but my games are never consistent and, on average, pretty meh.

There's a ton of map, formation, strategy, and mech knowledge that goes into outperforming your way into higher brackets. For starters, I'd say copy the least imaginative, most cookie cutter buids you can. They're cliche for a reason. Learn how to play what works, understand why it works, then start to do your own thing. Don't reinvent any wheels you don't have to. Don't learn any moot or bad habbits/lessons.

For the 3D, it's MLas and AC20. Get in close and spit the DPS. This is risky shit that'd probably fare better on a Firebrand.

This build completely benefits from the new 3D quirks coming in on the 17th, so a good build will get even better.

Dat Wolfgang.... I always asked myself why my 2X had such a hard attempt at getting #1, at least now I know :D

    5/5,
Quite possibly the best thing you can do with the 3D. High mounted LL for shooting over cover, reasonably fast and UAC5 when they aren't jam are absolutely spectacular. I run mine a bit faster and without the mediums in the arms.

I wish damage was broken down by weapon at the end of match. Much easier to tell if the mediums are worth it instead of speed/cooling/AMS/BAP.

BAHS why not just put the heat sinks into the engine, is it because of potential torso damage?

Mid range take on the 3D which i find performs well. LLs in torso HPs are high so you can shoot over hills like someone else said and i also like the idea of cutting out MLs if you find the build too hot, but they are a nice addition for defence. I preferred not to add JJs or AMS so i could take 14 DHS. It is best to avoid putting yourself in a close encounter and keep the range on your enemies with this one.
