This one is actually a rather curious build, but very potent in the hands of a skilled pilot. with its high heat efficiency you can actually chain fire those ppc's into a constant stream and still be able to avoid overheating with a minimum of firing discipline. though it will not be able to beat a poptart in its own game, it can actually lay supressive fire with excellent efficiency.

The advantage of such build is that you can use it for point snipping quite well AND can use it for brawling if need be (although like all dragons it is best used as a flanker rather than a front brawler). The small lasers are the for point defense against lights or in case you are running hot and find yourself in a close brawl. if you want, you can drop one DHS and upgrade then for 2 medium lasers but you will need to have a higher fire discipline to avoid overheating at the wrong time.

This build is almost the same has the extreme opposites build i posted for the DGR-5N, the only difference is that instead of 3 machine guns, this one has dual lasers as a backup weapon. that said it does have a trade off with the 5N variant. all of its weaponry is in the left side, meaning you might have to expose yourself more in certain situations. it will also cooldown a lot slower if you use the laser together with the ppcs. the advantage is that its backup weapon is not ammo dependant and frees half a ton of armor for the legs, and you can use the right arm as a shield to soak damage.

Don't use Small Lasers, they're crap. Drop a heatsink and add Medium Lasers.

Actually Dwergi, dont drop the DHS, just drop the two small lasers for a single medium. damage will be overall the same, heat as well but with more range. and you dont lose any heat efficiency. after tinkering and testing, i found that dual medium lasers more often than not led me to overheat (i usually stop the ppcs at 90% heat more or less) at that threshold, firing 2 medium lasers will pass the mark and trigger a shutdown, wich usually means death in a dragon.

One medium laser alone suffice to provide point defense while you run to safer areas or till you're cool enough.
